The Thuringer region here in Germany is well-known for their bratwurst. In the cities there usually seems to be a stand somewhere selling them for a steal of 2,50 euros. This is a stand I tried out in one of the main squares in Weimar. It is hard to say the exact taste difference between the Thuringer bratwurst and others, but it is a very good sausage. If you're in the Thuringar region you should try it. It is clearly very popular locally because there was a long line that had formed after I got mine. I also had another Thuringer bratwurst in Erfort, outside the Catherdral, which was my favorite out of the two; it had a stronger pepper taste and the bread with it was a bit larger. The bread to sausage ratio is a little strange…but I’m not going to question tradition.
