How i make my own original Suriname gingerbeer.
My parents are born in Suriname, and in Suriname people drink a lot of gingerbeer.
Ginger is one of the healthiest spices in the world and it is a good cure for many diseases.
Icecold gingerbeer is like drinking energy!!
And not like red bull, that is different.
It's like your body get a boost of a natural drink.
So, we at home drink it every day.
But if you want to know about the benefits of ginger, then my advice is to take a look on this website. Or Google it.
https://authoritynutrition.com/11-proven-benefits-of-ginger/
It might be a good idea to put ginger in your daily meal or it once a while.
There are many recipes on the internet with ginger.
So, for now i want to talk about the ginger beer i personal make.
It is my grandma recipe.
It is easy to make, and there for i did not create a video about it.
O don't get fooled by the name, it's called Gingerbeer but there is no alcohol in it.
Now what do you need to make Gingerbeer?
First one kilo of raw ginger.
5 liters of water
800 grams of sugar
A small hand with tail pepper
A little bottle of lemon juice, can also be fresh lemons
One cooking pot
One rasp
One sieve
First thing first unfortunately i did not have any ginger in home, i already made it.
So i took a two pictures of the internet to make an example.
All other pictures are my own.
So Let's start shall we.
Remove the peel from the ginger.
The Best thing to do is, to remove it with a spoon.
Can of course also with a knife but with a spoon is better, because then you wound remove more ginger with the peel.
When all is done, wash the ginger real good and put it on a plate.
And wash your own hands very good.
Next get the cooking pot, with the rasp.
And put the rasp in the cooking pot.
Then rasp the ginger in the cooking pot.
When all is done, put one liter of water into the cooking pot.
Then crush the ginger in the water.
That is to get the juice out of the ginger.
Do it only for a small while.
Then put more water into the cooking pot, like 2 liters.
Next thing to do is, is to put the spices into cooking pot.
First the sugar.
Then the lemon juice, only squish two times into the small bottle.
Next the vanilla extract, only 1/4 of a small bottle.
Then 20 of the tail peppers.
And two more liters of water.
Then stir with a wooden spoon everything within each other, in the cooking pot.
And closed the cooking pot and put it in the fridge for 24 hours.
Next day, get an extra cooking pot and one sieve.
And put the sieve on the other cooking pot, and put the gingerbeer in the other pot.
That is to remove the ginger and only gingerbeer will be left in the cooking pot.
Next is to taste the flavor of the gingerbeer, if it hurt to much in your throat , then put more water. Only a little more water, and taste every time until you can handle it easy to drink.
Next is to start with the flavor.
First put 20 more tail peppers.
And taste the ginger to see what you think should be needed.
GIngerbeer should have a sweet taste, so the first thing what might be needed is sugar.
Start with a small spoon, and then put one at a time.
And with every spoon, you can also put a little of lemon juice.
But you must be careful with the vanille, if you put to many vanilla then the taste will be ruined.
So, start with a few drops, to see if the taste is good enough for you.
And that's it peoples, for maybe 6 or 7 dollars you can have almost 6 bottles of gingerbeer.
Its sweet and tasty and it also gives a lot of energy.
And this is just a easy Suriname recipe what do not require a video, and only a few pictures is good enough to show how it is made.
But with i am planning to make another Suriname recipe , called Roti.
And i will makes a video about that, then you can make your very own Suriname style Roti.
So, for now i hope you enjoy this post and that you will try to make your own gingerbeer.
Because it got many benefits and it is a lot better then cola or all those other drinks.
Atleast with this drink, you know what you are drinking.
So, If you like this video and made your own gingerbeer, then please let me know if you liked the drink.
IL bet you do :)
