Imagine a combination between a drink and a dessert: milkshake, ice cream, waffle, whipped cream, candy, chocolate... all of that in ONE!
These milkshakes with countless topping are actually called "freakshakes" and have become quite popular in the last few years - mostly because pictures and videos of them have gone viral on platforms like instagram or facebook.
I had heard from my friends that a new Café just opened in town, offering exactly that: a crazy waffle milkshake with an abundance of toppings.
Of course, I had to try that and decide the verdict for myself!
The Café calls these Waffle Shakes and they come in different flavours - Oreo, Strawberry Raffaello, Chocolate-Banana and so on!
I went for the Oreo milkshake, plus waffle and toppings of course.
When the shakes arrived, everyone was in awe - it was like perfection in a dessert!
It looked more like a piece of art than something edible!
It was a Milk shake in a mason jar, topped with a waffle, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and countless toppings!
The shake itself was perfectly blended - creamy, with tiny oreo pieces and a distinct chocolatey-oreo flavour.
But the combination of the shake with the soft waffle, ice cream and whipped cream - a masterpiece!
And not to mention all the incredible toppings: Oreo cookies, Popcorn, Gummy Bears, Marshmallows, Popping Candy, and even chocolate cornflakes, all topped with chocolate syrup!
If you didn't have a sweet tooth before... you definitely will after you've had this dessert!
It was just like an explosion in your mouth, the different toppings added a different dimension to the creamy and chocolatey taste of the shake itself.
And depending on which toppings you combined in one bite, you created a new flavour combination each time!
This was simply heaven in a dessert!
I barely managed to finish all of the shake because the ice cream, waffle and toppings filled me up so much.
So I'll definitely have to return and share this experience with some other food lovers!
