Barcelona is not only a beautiful city, but it also offers some incredible food!
I have already posted about the delicious Spanish Tapas - but there is much more to share.
When walking around in the spanish summer heat, nothing seems to be more delicious than some cold, sweet ice cream.
When walking around the area of Barceloneta, we stumbled upon an ice cream shop called "Eyescream and Friends".
It looked so quirky and unique that I was instantly drawn to it.
This isn't just regular ice cream - it's shaved into extremely thin slices, which gives it a unique texture and delicate flavour.
Then, you can choose 2 toppings from the wide variety.
They add cute cartoon-eyes made from candy, which is why they're called "Eyescream"!
Now, first: the ice cream.
The flavours are: chocolate, mango, cheesecake, yogurt, wildberry, vanilla and strawberry. Every flavour has its own cartoon character.
Next, you choose 2 toppings from the huge selection.
As you can see, there are countless little pots with different toppings, for example oreo crumbles, different sauces, chocolate chips, fruit, gummy bears, marshmallows and more.
I went for cheesecake ice-cream with oreo crumbles and dulce de leche caramel!
And the finished product ...
But this wasn't the only incredible ice cream in Barcelona!
Another night, I was walking around Barcelona city center and suddenly noticed a café that sold ice cream and macarons. Combined?, I thought.
They specialize both in very exclusive homemade macarons, and delicious ice cream. (But they also offer Crêpes and other desserts!)
Macarons ranging from caramel, vanilla, pistachio, strawberry, and almond, and ice cream flavours like cookies, tiramisu, lime-basil, mango and more.
So many different flavours and possible combinations - paradise for every ice-cream lover!
And look at the way they designed the ice cream - they formed it like a rose around the cone, with the macaron in the middle.
The combination of creamy, cold ice-cream and the delicate, sweet macaron was very unique and absolutely delicious.
The caramel-flavoured macaron was perfectly fresh, the outside was slightly crunchy and the inside was filled with cream.
The ice cream was very flavourful, especially pistachio, tiramisu and lime-basil. Lime-Basil may sound like quite a strange ice cream flavour, but actually it was very refreshing!
That's the end of my first ice-cream journey through Barcelona - until next time!
