This is the delicous story of the (short) life of a self-made vegan pizza with delicious vegan cheese! :D
It is also my entry for the #pizzaparty contest hosted by @deliciousplants. :D
Let's get going!
1st step: vegan pizza dough
Ingredients:
- 400g of flour
- 200ml of soy milk or water
- 2 sachets of dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 tablespoons of ground flaxseed
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of pepper
- 1 pinch of baking soda
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients together and knead them into a smooth pizza dough. The dough should neither be too crumbly nor should it stick to the hands. After kneading, give it into a bowl, cover it with some cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Then put some parchment paper on the baking sheet and spread the dough on it. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, you can put some flour on your hands.
2nd step: vegan pizza sauce
Ingredients:
- 500g of tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (I usually take olive oil)
- 2 tablespoons of basil (either freshly chopped or dried and grated)
- 2 tablespoons of parsley (either freshly chopped or dried and grated)
- garlic powder (or two chopped garlic cloves)
- 1 dried tomato, minced
- 1 spicy tofu sausage, chopped
- pinch of salt
- pinch of pepper
- pinch chilli powder
- pinch of dried oregano
Preparation:
Mix it all and spread it nicely onto the pizza dough.
3rd step: vegan pizza topping
Ingredients:
- broccoli
- spinach leaves
- peas
- carrots
- bell peppers
- mushrooms
- zucchini
- pineapple
- tomatoes
- one spicy tofu sausage
Preparation:
Chop it all up and place it as desired on the pizza dough topped with tomato sauce.

4. Homemade vegan cheese ("melted yeast")
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of yeast flakes (for example, those of Naturata)
- 1 tablespoon of wheat flour
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (e.g., olive oil)
- 2 1/2 cup of water
- some chopped parsley
- some garlic powder
- some mustard
Preparation:
Put the yeast flakes, the flour and the cornstarch into a cold pan. Add the water while stirring constanlty. Place the pan on the stove and wait until the mixture becomes creamy while continuing stirring. Boil it up briefly. Then add the oil, mustard and garlic powder. The vegan cheese is ready when it has become cold.
Put the cheese onto the pizza.
5. and off you go in the oven!
One, two, three: Done! :)
