Today,our food journey takes us to a tiny yet beautiful island bordering between the Philippine Sea and Pacific Ocean called Saipan, one of the islands belonging to the Mariana Islands.
Saipan Island has some of the most blue ocean waters I've ever seen. The water is also extremely clean and free from pollution, as such it is very transparent. This makes it a hot spot for diving.
Let's take a look at one of Saipan's most popular restaurants called TonyRoma's. It's situated just along the coast of the main beach.

At TonyRoma's you'll find the best tasting American style ribs in Saipan. Actually, TonyRama's was established at Florida in 1972 where they opened their first restaurant specialising in Ribs. Owing to their succulent tasting ribs, TonyRoma's very quickly earned their name in the Rib's business. By the 80's, TonyRoma's had expanded their restaurants to all of the US. Today, they operate in 27 different countries and have over 260 restaurants in total!

Walking in the restaurant, I'm welcomed by a very western classical style of decor which made me feel both warm and at home.
The interior is slightly dim. Because I came to the restaurant quite early, it wasn't very busy.
In the background, the restaurant plays some light but quick music, the attendants are also really upbeat and passionate making the atmosphere of the restaurant bustling with positivity.
The menu has a lot to offer, what was surprising to me was there was also a Chinese menu. In fact, each of the waiters/waitresses could speak a little Chinese as well.
Let's begin eating!
This is an alcoholic mango iced smoothie, with such high tropical temperatures, it was very refreshing and just what I needed to cool down.
I could smell this plate of Prawns before they were even served!
These prawns are made with a specially prepared coconut sauced and then deep fried. It's got a very crispy texture to it.
Of course with any fried food, it's always good to balance it out with a salad. Here is their Caesar salad was a perfect compliment to the deep fried prawns. It tasted very cool and refreshing.
This is the roasted chicken and tender roasted ribs platter. The ribs are BBQ flavour. I heard that their signature dish is the Lewis Ribs which has won many awards. What separates these ribs from others is how they cut it leaving all but the quintessential parts for our pleasure. Then, the ribs are brushed with their own special barbecue sauce and then roasted some more. The outer layer tasted a little bit crispy but the meat was very soft and succulent. The sweetcorn and broccoli complete the platter, not only balancing out the roasted meat with vegetables, but also making it more aesthetically pleasing.
At first, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish such a large portion of meat, but because of their secret recipe combining sour and spice together, I found myself unable to stop! I must say, I enjoyed the ribs more than the chicken, the chicken meat was a little too tough for my liking. Every platter is such a generous portion and the price is very reasonable too, I guess that is why this restaurant is so popular.
This is the baked lobster. Not only was it really fresh, which is what you'd expect with Saipan being an island surrounded by the sea, they also cut open the body to help the meat really absorb the sauces. It tasted absolutely delightful!

走进这家餐厅,浓郁的美式复古装修的很温馨,好像回到家里一样。光线暗暗的,我去的比较早,所以餐厅还没有很多人。餐厅放着轻快的音乐,服务员都很热情,感觉气氛非常热闹的餐厅。菜单看起来非常丰富,让我惊讶的是菜单上有中文,并且服务员大多会简单得中文。
下面赶快和我一起来尝尝我们点的美味吧!这是带酒味的芒果冰沙,喝起来超级凉爽。还没有端上来就闻到这盘虾的香味。这是椰子虾,用岛上特调的椰子酱料油炸出来的虾,吃起来脆脆的。油炸的食物一定要配上爽口的凯撒沙拉,吃起来口感好极了。烤鸡和原味烤嫩肋排拼盘。BBQ口味的烤肋排,听说招牌的路易斯肋排荣获多项大奖,它以特殊的切割方式,保留了精华的部分, 再涂上特制原味烤肉酱,连骨头都烤得酥脆的,吃起来很嫩。配上了玉米和花椰菜,颜色拍出来非常漂亮。我一开始以为我一个人大概不能吃完这么大一份,但是没想到我几乎都吃完了,因为这个独门的秘方酱汁,酸中带辣,让我吃的停不下来。不过说实话,烤嫩肋排确实比烤鸡要好吃,鸡肉稍微有些硬了。每一盘分量都很足,价格却没有很贵,这也是大家喜欢这家餐厅的原因。烤龙虾,餐厅已经贴心的从中间切开,吃起来特别方便,放的酱料非常入味。希望大家喜欢我塞班岛的BBQ美味之旅,之后还有更多有趣的发现在等着你们。
