Another spontaneous creation! Soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, bite-size apple crumble slices - delicious!
What you will need:
2 apples, any variety
100g bran flakes/corn flakes
1 tblsp cinnamon
15g butter
4 tblsp honey
Method:
In a large bowl, crush the bran/corn flakes with a rolling pin or something similar
Add the cinnamon to the crushed flakes and mix in
In another bowl, melt the butter and stir in the honey
Peel, core and slice the apples
Dip the apple slices first in the butter & honey mixture, then press both sides into the crushed flakes. Lay the slices on a baking tray
Bake at 180 degrees Celcius for 25 minutes. When they first come out the oven they will feel soft to touch, but the outside will crisp up as they cool. Leave on the tray to cool, then use a metal spatula to lift them off the tray and transfer to a plate or container
And there you have it, another easy snack. Enjoy!
