Coconut Water For Health, Hangover & Weight Loss?? Why Not Coconut!

What Is Coconut Water?
Not to be confused with high-fat coconut milk and coconut oil, "coconut water is a clear liquid from young and green coconuts" while coconut milk is the liquid that comes from the grated meat of a mature coconut and coconut oil is extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm.

Nutrition Facts and Health Benefits

Coconut water contains approximately 46 calories per cup, 10 grams of natural sugar, with little protein and zero fat! It has 5 essential electrolytes:

  • calcium
  • magnesium
  • phosphorous
  • sodium and
  • potassium which is the primary nutrient.

Because of these present essential electrolytes, Coconut water has a lot of health benefits known such as

  • lower the blood pressure
  • cholesterol and dissolve kidney stones
  • energy and hydration booster

Alternative Drink
Cococnut water has a natural sweet, refreshing taste and becasue of its exceptional nutritional value, it's better than sugary drinks!

If young coconuts are not available in your area, you can try pasteurized coconut water that comes in bottles or cartons too. It might taste somewhat differently and have lost some part of its nutritional value but it’s still a great alternative to plain boring spring water, sports drinks and sodas!

Hangover Remedy
Planning to paint the town red tonight? and want to prevent some pain tomorrow? Coconut water to the rescue!

Coco water also contains anti-oxidants which prevent and repair damage to the body. If you are low on anti-oxidants, you will feel worse after a night of drinking. Your body need electrolytes. Drinking alcohol doesn’t provide any of them and every time you urinate, you lose more and more. Coconut water contains these electrolites as I mentioned above.

Coconut Water For Weight Loss
Coconut water contains zero cholesterol, high in fiber and is extremely low in fat. Therefore, generous quantities can be consumed. It also suppresses the appetite and makes you feel full because of its rich nature. Before buying and consuming coco water, check the following:
