Crawfish and Shrimp Boil Saturday

One more day and it could have been sublime Sunday.
Friends I've known since the Thunder Mountain days back in the early 80's throw a boil once or twice a year. These folks came to Idaho from Louisianna to work in the Gold Mines way back when. They loved the area so much that after many years of traveling and working other mines and raising their son, moved to Idaho full time. Yeah!!! Miss Dee Dee and her Bear of a hubby Dennis are such fun hosts. Always a good time.
This is my entry for #foodphotography hosted by @juliank, #photocontest. I reckon it could be @kalemandras #mondayred #colorfulphotography. Thank you both for hosting these fun contests.

These crawfish and shrimp were shipped in "live" from the Gulf Coast of Louisianna. Yep, they were alive alright and ready to pinch if you get to close.

It is quite a process to set up and feed a hungry crew. The spices are a very well guarded secret but I can tell you it is very spicy and has lots of cayenne!

Lemons are halved, whole bulbs of garlic have the tops cut off, whole onions, red potatoes, and yes, polish sausages.

What a grand way to spend a saturday afternoon. You can tell the professional crawfish eaters by the size of their pile! This little gal wins by a dozen!
