Serenity

Stretching her arms as far as they could reach, she greeted the new day.

The breeze was blowing blue, crisp with vapor-filled chills that left the clouds behind. Late morning, early afternoon, was there really so much of a difference?

More than anything else, she wanted tea. A whole pot of it just for herself. She slipped into slippers and padded to the kitchen where she set fresh water to boil.

Steam rose, and she closed her eyes to breathe it all in. Warm light streaming through glass, spacious wood flooring, and sandalwood memories of incense burned the night before all blended with the secret scent that nobody else could sense.

Peach-blossomed rivers of milk and sweet honey flowed from within. This scent only came when her heart and her body aligned. The air was thick with it today. Everything in order.

She opened her eyes with a smile and poured water over dried leaves to begin the infusion.
