Coconut Head
There it is. A coconut. Waiting. Eventually, it will be cut open and the juice will be drank. The shell will eventually be disposed once the nice bits have found their way onto a spoon.
This is the cycle of life.
Lucy didn't want any of it. She was given a potato head for her birthday, but never used it. Potatoes just weren't her thing. However, she still kept the parts, including eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc.
“I will put the body parts on you Mr Coconut,” said Lucy. “I will give you body parts. Then you can go and make your way in the world.”
She put the body parts on the coconut.
“I shall call you Coconut Head. I'm off to bed, See you in the morning.”
The following morning, Lucy rushed down the stairs to see Coconut Head. He was gone.
“Mummy, mummy, Coconut Head has gone. I gave him body parts and now he has gone. He's going to have a life.”
Mum just laughed. “We shall see.”
….and that was that.
Twenty two years later, Lucy switched on the TV.
“The headlines this morning. We have a new Prime Minister, Coconut Head. A landslide victory and a new dawn for the country.”
An alarm bell starts to ring. Lucy woke up.
“That was a strange dream. I forgot about the Coconut Head. Hahaha. He becomes Prime Minister. Very funny”
She got out of bed and walked to the kitchen.
“Hello Lucy,”
Lucy looked shocked. It was Coconut Head.
“Thank you for giving me body parts.”
The alarm went off again. This time Lucy pinched her arm to make sure she was really awake.
That was a strange experience.
“Did Coconut Head really make a life for himself? Or did Mummy cut him up and drink the juice?”
