The Chance Meetimg
She struggled to slip on her new shoe, bending over to tug at the slim red strap. The clock announced 8:00 a.m. The bus came at 8:15. She knew the driver would not wait for anyone.
She grabbed her purse and umbrella. The rain was pelting at a steady rate. She couldn't be late again or she'd lose this new job.
Everything rested on her keeping the job, the best paying one so far.
She almost ran down the block.
A sporty black car was approaching from behind her and slowed to watch her race. She saw that car before. It was a day last week while she was waiting for the bus.
As she approached the bus stop she saw it's tail lights pulling out. She sprinted to catch it, but the strap gave way on the new shoe.
She slowed and cried out in frustration when the man in the sports car slowed down.
"Need a ride?" he asked sympathetically,"I promise, I don't bite.
She looked warily at his handsome face. She never did this before, but slowly nodded her head and got in the passenger side.
