Food to the table, we sow and reap
In the pleasures of spring
To keep our pantries deep
In vegetables, fruits, and honey sans bee sting
Red, ripe tomatoes gush their goodness
Next to yellow squash and green zucchini
We giggle and eat until fullness
Savoring the garden-flavored tortellini
Summer banquet never end
We long for your taste embrace
Alas, the fresh baskets now shallow
As the garden planters go fallow
Our winter dreams recall summer
When we ate all wanted at supper.
