Hi, Steemit!!!
In Fruit and Veggies Monday I want to show you the interesting cute fruits of one tree. Do you know them? We did not know at first what it is.
Once we looked at this plant and its owner saw us. He tore us some berries, held out and said in Hebrew: "Try it, it's delicious. It tastes like cherries." We thanked and brought cheerful fruits home to find them on the Internet. If you do not know this, then get acquainted! Surinamese cherry!
Still it is known as Pitanga. The fruits are really very pleasant to the taste: sweet and sour with a light aroma.
This plant belongs to the Myrtov family. The berries of the Surinamese cherry are very useful: since they contain vitamin C. They are especially rich in vitamin A, therefore, their regular consumption of food will improve the condition of the skin, hair and nails, strengthen vision, accelerate the healing processes of wounds and have a restorative effect. The product is rich in fiber, therefore it helps to cope with constipation and normalize the level of cholesterol in the blood.
Dear girls, you can eat them as much as you want because the calorie content of the Surinamese cherry is so low that it can be used without any fear for your figure :) Moreover, due to mild laxative action, Surinamese cherry will help get rid of excess kilograms, and its organic acids will accelerate metabolism.
In the fruits are also a lot of calcium, phosphorus and iron, so the Surinamese cherry helps strengthen bones, joints and teeth, normalizes protein metabolism, helps cure anemia, strengthen immunity.
These berries can be eaten raw (which we did :) ) But you can use them in compotes, cooking jam and even adding to salads. However it is necessary to know that the bones of the fruit are very bitter, before consuming and preparing the fruits they must be removed.
And yet: because of the high content of organic acids, its use is better restricted for gastritis with high acidity, ulcer of the stomach and duodenum. We have no problems with this, so we can enjoy these amazing, useful, delicious berries!
Good health to you !!!
