Today we are snowed in. Kids didn't go to school as they caught the cold, but to our surprise, the neighbors' kids were home too, or rather were playing with the snow. I honestly thought I missed an announcement from school or something, because we didn't go as boys are sick, but why were they home, I thought. But yes, snow is super thick and the road isn't plowed at all, even ATM am typing, and it is 4 PM now 😂 Nobody could really walk, drive, and whatnot. My husband had to call a colleague this morning, who drives a truck, because our car is a small family car that would have so much trouble driving through thick unplowed snow.
Anyhoo, as internet was on and off, lights flickered most of the morning until now, what did we do to spend the day? A little fun craft with one of our pumpkin! We created a "basket" of kitties 😂
My 3 yo was super excited of these kitties, and so was my 7 yo 😹 They do love cats much!
To make these pumpkin of kitties are super simple, all you need:
- large pumpkin
- mini pumpkins or round gourds, or even fake mini pumpkins
- googly eyes
- Washi tape
- ribbon
- glue gun
- craft carton
- black tape
- unused black cable
- double side sticky tape (we didn't get to use it in the end)
- scissor
Let's see how I made them!
- Cut craft carton into triangles, wrap the sides with washi tapes as shown on picture. Bend the bottom part that isn't covered with tape, and cut as shown.
- Glue gun this area and press it to pumpkin, as ears. Then glue gun googly eyes to the pumpkin
- Cut triangles out of black tape for noses. Then cut strips as whiskers OR glue gun black cables for easier. Cats are ready!
Easy peasy, right? 😉
I took our kitties to the backyard because kids wanted to play with the snow ever since they learned the other kids were doing it. They forgot that they are sickies. Ah well, naughty boys 😅
And here is me, the crazy cat Lady, with my kitties
