Selling Votes Part 2 – The Saga Continues

Official public notice – I do not sell votes. If you send me SBD or other funds at this point I will consider it a ‘donation’ to my Tesla Model S fund or a night of debauchery up in Canada drinking fine whiskey and smoking Cuban cigars. You have been hereby warned.

Please do not contribute to my delinquency, LOL. I do not need or request your SBD. I always appreciate your votes, comments and resteeming of my blog, but please do so only if you feel like it.

If you want to help out please post good content and power up your SBD by trading it for Steem power so that your vote will be worth more when you vote. Powering up your funds helps us all by increasing the value of Steem and allows your vote to be used to spread out the wealth to a greater number of people. Posting interesting content helps us all too, but posting copyright materials without permission or attribution can be harmful for everyone especially if votes for the post are paid for to make it look like this type of content is valued.

By donating SBD or Steem and then asking, “I payed for four votes, you only voted me once, where’s my votes?” you risk being added to my internal ‘ban’ list of people of which I feel are not following my policy and you may not get votes that I might have otherwise given freely to you.

There is no possible way that I can make this ‘fair’ for everyone that sends me funds so PLEASE do not send any more SBD or Steem with the expectation of getting a vote from me.

Question of the Day

I am but a poor humble slave to humanity

Was said by:
A) A guru held captive in an ashram
B) A homemaker after cleaning hair out of the drain for the 500th time
C) @lightsplasher after receiving too much SBD and requests for votes
D) All of the above
E) None of the above
F) No one in a ‘normal’ state of mind

Changing Policies

@lightsplasher reserves the right to change the policy at any point based on the phases of the moon, voting strength, cosmic ray bombardment, the whispering of voices from the great beyond, etc., etc.

This is not too different from the policies of many large institutions that handle money. This is Bittrex’s policy:

4.1 Conditions and Restrictions. We may, at any time and in our sole discretion, refuse any exchange transaction or exchange bid submitted via the Services, impose limits on the exchange amount permitted via the Services or impose any other conditions or restrictions upon your use of the Services, without prior notice. For example, we may limit the number of open orders that you can establish via the Services or we may restrict exchanges from certain locations.

Bittrex has in fact locked my account without prior notice and refuses to close it and refund any of my money after months of requests.

So if you are feeling short changed by my ‘change of voting policy’ please realize that I at least, never really had one. The one I do have now is deliberately obscure, convoluted, obfuscated and difficult to understand in the fine tradition of some powerful institutions, emotional people and anonymous individuals.

The moral of the tale is, please don’t send your private data or crypto to any anonymous, perhaps unsavory characters or institutions with no address, phone number, contact information, insurance, posted regulatory policies, or understandable privacy policy. They may in fact use your information and funds in any way they want or claim that hackers broke into their network, leaving you little way of proving otherwise and subject to identity theft.

(My big hope is that block chain technology will pave the way towards solving this problem by allowing us greater control of our own data and funds through decentralized trading and proof of identity. This could be really game changing for everyone.)

Thanks for reading! I’m trying to be funny and silly with this post in case anyone is wondering, but please don’t send any more SBD or other funds with the expectation of a vote.

The picture was taken by me with my Galaxy S7.

(Legalese - @lightsplasher is not liable for you drinking whiskey, smoking cigars, hearing voices, donating SBD, and crashing your Tesla in a night of debauchery or any other antisocial behavior. Additionally, please don’t worry about me I’ve pretty much learned my limits after a school of hard knocks and road rash.) LOL.
