Gaming Retrospective - Singularity

Singularity is another singleplayer FPS game released in 2010 that was developed by Raven Software. This game had very interesting time traveling story and gameplay mechanic.  A Group of Marines goes to investigate electromagnetic surge from an uninhabited island called Katorga-12 that damaged American spy satellite. Leader of the group is our character Nathaniel Renko that soon after crash landing on the island starts to phase out of time to distant past of 1955 where scientists were researching E-99, the material that caused the catastrophic accident in 1955 that destroyed everything. Time traveling stories are never simple, neither is this one. In his quest Renko found strange device  TMP that will help him stop evil scientist Demichev from world domination.

The time manipulation device or TMP is a very fun tool to use that is first time seen in any FPS game. You can rewind time and fix broken machines or fix the stairs to get to unreachable locations. In some scenes in the game Renko can super charge the TMP to fix huge objects like ships or bridges. You can even use TMP aggressively and implode your enemies. Some advanced enemies have protection against E-99 used by TMP, they will have to die from standard piercing weapons trauma. This game is made in Unreal engine 3 which made the graphics look very good 7 years after. Singularity is very fun FPS game whose story will keep you intrigued until you finish the game.
