Sacred Games

Sacred is a fantasy ARPG series from German developers Ascaron. Games take place on the fantasy land of Ancaria filled with many races and creatures you will slay. Sacred games have very colorful art style compared to almost every other grim ARPG's like Diablo, Grim Dawn or Path of Exile. Loot, enemy variety and huge lands to explore is what Sacred games are all about, if you missed those games it is worth to look into this series overview.

Sacred

First game was released in 2004. and it is one of my favorite ARPG games ever. There are six classes you can choose to play with, Gladiator, Dark Elf, Wood Elf, Vampiress, Battle-Mage and Seraphim (expansion added two more, Dwarf and Daemon). Every class is fun to play and will change your gameplay drastically. Very fun feature this game has is free exploration, you can go anywhere on the map without restrictions, and you can do your own thing depend what class you are playing with. End goal is to kill the demon summoned by the powerful necromancer that got loose. Sacred is a very fun game every step of the way you are playing it.

Sacred 2

Few years after the release of Sacred we got the chance to play Sacred 2 in 2008. As always game looked better, but in some other aspects it was not as fun as the original game. Main reason for that are long roads you had to travel on to get from point A to point B. Game had a huge world map that wasn't filled with content as the first game. However some new classes offered new fun gameplay perspective like Temple Guardian and Shadow Warrior. Story is the prequel of what happened 2000 year before the first game as T-energy, the force binding all living things corrupted and mutated almost every living creature, you can heal the lands or spread more chaos. Decent sequel worth playing.

Sacred 3

This game disappointed every fan of previous Sacred game. It is a dumbed down version of the game with limited itemization, skills and class choices. Game feels like downgraded version of previous games and it was made just to milk money from the fans, it had no clear development direction, a huge waste of everyone's time. That being said, it was not made by the Ascaron as new dev company "Kaiko"took the wheel and crash and burned. Bad game.
