City building games are more for easy going gamers that like to relax and don't want some high octane action. I've been know to partake in some of those games, slowly building my Empire, City or an Amusement park. City building games are a true joy if you like to relax and see your city flourish. Here are some of the best City Building Games I've played over the years.
Anno 2070
Anno franchise is the great one here. Anno games span from middle ages into the future, and latest of the Anno games you can actually build a base on the Moon. I liked Anno 2070 more because of underwater bases. So you would have to manage your mega city and underwater facilities, also you had a nice choice between going Eco or full dirty industry pollution and your cities would look the part. Great game.
Sim City 4
Now this is the game i liked. Build your small town and expand it to metropolis size and try to micromanage the needs of your citizens. That is not easy because there would be riots, fires, even volcanoes erupting from the ground and your job is to get the city in order again. Life stealer game.
Tropico 4
Be a real dictator in this city building game. Very fun experience building the city of a Banana Republic state. This game doesn't take itself seriously and that is why we love Tropico games. Customize your El Presidente and be a true "lovable" dictator.
RollerCoaster Tycoon
One of the first sim games I've played it this simulation of an amusement park. Build your own rides and see small sims throw up or be happy. You could even build some of the rides and let them go live unfinished and see so many pixelated people die. Fun little game where you can instead of building a city build the whole amusement park.
