Black Desert Online - How to create a walking loop

This is a quick guide on how to create an auto walking loop in the MMO game Black Desert Online.

You might be wondering why you would want to create an auto walking loop in game. I'll tell you a little bit about that first.

Black Desert Online is a game in which farming and grinding is quite common. To improve your character in various ways, you'll need to do a lot of gathering, fishing, cooking, etc. There are also ways to improve your character's basic health. You do this by eating food. Another thing you can improve on your character is stamina and the weight limit they can carry. That's where the walking loop will come in handy.

While walking or running, you will slowly gain more breath. This is one of the things you can level up and it gives your maximum stamina a boost. While walking around with a heavy pack on your back, you will slowly gain more strength. Levelling this up will allow your character to gain a higher maximum weight it can carry, which is handy for those grinding moments.

Another reason for auto walking is to level up your horse. Simply sit on the horse's back, create an auto walking loop and run around. While running, your horse will gain experience and level up eventually. The only thing you have to watch out for is the draining of your horse's stamina. You can put carrots in your horse's inventory and tell it to 'Auto-consume feed when Stamina is low', to truly automate the process. That way, you can run off and do other things (like real life cooking or cleaning!).

Now that you know what this is used for, let's get onto the how part!

It is really quite simple. Normally, when you want to move from point A to point B, you can simply right-click on the map to indicate the spot you want to move to and press T. This is almost exactly like that.

  1. Open your map with M.
  2. Alt-rightclick on a spot on the map, which will give you a blue line.
  3. Alt-rightclick again on your current position to create a back and forth loop (the line should turn green now).
  4. Optionally: If you want to run a circle, Alt-rightclick on a couple of positions and close the loop by clicking on your current position. This will make the line turn green.
  5. Close your map and press T.
  6. Sit back and enjoy the (repeating) scenery!
