Garden Update: Succulent Zen Garden and Other Plants Transplant

Today I was reminded of just how relaxing succulent gardening can be. I've been doing nothing but watering my succulents for months and today I decided to plant them all into a garden bed in the driveway that's almost always fairly dry. It's a perfect place for succulents and cactuses and so I transplanted those, and some other plants today too.

This is their old home, just before they were put in their new, more evenly spaced spots.

And a few extras purchased recently, including a plant known as elephant's foot.

This is the section of garden where the succulents are at the moment, although I will spread them further to the left as I have more.

My cactus that didn't seem very cactus like when I got it, until it grew these big ass thorns out of no where and became intimidating.

One of my very first aloe plants which was clearly struggling in the restricted and cramp container.

I planted a cactus seed mix I got locally and literally only one type of cactus came up. This is the last cactus I have left.

This is one of several moringa trees I have here, this is the only one I've managed to plant into the ground. Come on super nutrient rich leaves.

I had some ginger plants I started too, and put them into this bed. It'll be perfect for them and soon they'll be providing me with fresh ginger for my ginger beer ferments.

Tomorrow I'll amend this and plant either radishes or carrots in them. These containers are great for root vegetables because you can have total control over the growing medium and get perfect veggies easier. You can also move them to better areas and are not committed to one spot with these.

I broke off some pieces of succulents to put in a nursery of sorts to start new plants.

And this plant....

And this one seemed like it just needed a little special time in a small pot for awhile.
