Steemit_scramble_jpeg4ff19.jpg

It was a great first week for the Steemit Scramble!

Dustin Johnson took home the grand prize at the Genesis Open this weekend. He shot 17 under par and beat Scott Brown and Thomas Pieters, both tied for second, by five strokes. With the win, Johnson picked up 500 points for the Fedex Cup and is now sixth place in the season standings – a 27-rank improvement from last week.

Genesis Open Contest Results

There were 26 entries for the first Steemit Scramble and six users correctly picked the tournament winner, which ended up giving us a five-way tie for second place. The week’s top points earner, @wingz, picked both the tournament winner and correctly guessed the 2x multiplier. Here are the winning users with their points earned.

The total pot for the weekly contest was 265.72 STEEM after converting the SBD portion of the payout. I dropped the decimal number of 0.72.

The first place prize of 132.5 STEEM has been awarded and sent to @wingz and the remaining pot was divided evenly between all of the 2nd-place contestants, each receiving 26.5 STEEM. Here is the proof of payout:

Please remember that all points from all contestants will carry over for the monthly and season-long contests. Due to the late start of the contest this month, the first monthly contest will conclude at the end of March, following the World Golf Championships – Dell Technologies Match Play event.

The Weekly Steemit Scramble Contest

Tournament Information – The Honda Classic

The 2017 Honda Classic is held at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The tournament is played on the Champion Course, which is a par-70 course for this event and it spans 7,110 yards. From the tips, the course rating is 75.2 and the slope is 148.

Last year’s winner was Adam Scott, who shot 9 under par (-9) with a total score of 271. It was Scott’s only win at this tournament, where he edged out Sergio Garcia by one stroke. Both players are currently registered for this year’s tournament. You can see the entire field here: The Honda Classic Field

The current weather forecast for the tournament calls for a slight chance of rain on Thursday with winds out of the north at around 14 miles per hour. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the winds will be more calm – around 8 miles per hour – and temperatures in the upper 70s and low to mid-80s, with mostly sunny skies.

Player Selections and Multiplier

For the weekly Steemit Scramble, select three golfers from the tournament field that you believe will perform well and finish highest in the final standings. Based on the final results of the tournament, golfers will be assigned the following points:

How to Play and Win

  1. In a comment on this post, submit your three golfers and your prediction for the weekly multiplier. ONLY ONE COMMENT SUBMISSION PER USER, PER WEEKLY CONTEST.

  2. Submissions will be confirmed at the start of the weekly tournament. Tee times are typically posted the day before the start of the event. I will leave a comment to announce the first tee time each week, but it will ultimately be up to participants to know the tournament start time. ALL CONTEST SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ENTERED PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED START TIME AT THE FIRST TEE ON THE OPENING DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. Late submissions and any edits after that time will be automatically disqualified from the weekly contest.

  3. There will be three winners each week. The winners will be the contestants with the most points gained, based on the points distribution outlined in Player Selections and Multiplier. All point totals earned from all contestants will carry over for the monthly and season-long contests.

  4. The contest is funded with a minimum pot of 50 STEEM. The total weekly pot distribution will be divided as follows:

PlaceRewards Percentage
1st50%
2nd30%
3rd20%

In the event of a tie, the pot will be split between the tying contestants. If the tie occurs for third place, then all tying contestants will split the 20% payout. If the tie occurs in first or second place, then the tying contestants will split the total payout for those places.

Example: A two-way tie for first place will split 80% of the pot (50% + 30%) and third place will receive the remaining 20%. A three-way tie for second place will split 50% of the pot (30% + 20%) and first place will receive the allotted 50%.
