Handmade Rings from Polymer Clay - Tutorial.

If you have read my early posts, you know that my wife and I make handmade bijou from polymer clay. Here the tutorial - how to make a simple and funny rings. It might be interesting for those who are just beginning to master polymer clay.

We will need:

  • baking polymer clay
  • sharp blade
  • acrylic or plastic rolling pin (or pasta machine)
  • round cutters
  • plastic tube

1. You'll need polymer clay in two colors.

2. Roll out to a gradient. For convenience, you will need a pasta machine. But you can do without it and roll out with a rolling pin (acrylic or plastic)

3. Wrap it - the light part inside.

4. Cut into 4 pieces. You will need a sharp blade.

5. Fold the cut parts as follows.

6. Using a rolling pin, press it to make something like a parallelepiped :) Then cut off the part - such width as you need.

7. Using a cutter of the desired diameter, remove middle of the the workpiece.

8. Place in a central hole plastic tube - it is necessary for giving rigidity. Carefully give form to your ring.

Than you need to bake your ring according with the instruction, printed on the package.

Last one - when you already baked your ring, you need to grind and polish it.

The result is something like this:

I wish you success in your creativity, friends!

Sincerely, Terry Craft.
