We recently published a post about candida and how in the proper amounts it is actually very beneficial and essential to good health, but an overgrowth can contribute to the destruction of the digestive system.

Here at the Garden of Eden, we are committed to not only our own great health but also the health of everyone else, so we are continuing our series on candida with an easy test you can do at home to check for a candida overgrowth in your body!

We suggest you perform this cheap and sustainable at home test so you know if you need to take steps to remove excess candida from your body. There are also options to have a medical doctor perform a blood or other test if you would rather go that route.

Candida Test

The purpose of this test is to check the body for an overgrowth of candida.

• Take a large glass container that you can see through and put at least 6 inches of water in it.
• Work up a bit of saliva in your mouth, then expel it into the water. Set the container aside for at least 5 minutes.
• You will be able to see the changes as time progresses. Check your saliva for changes over the next hour.
• Compare your results to the image above. If the saliva is stringy, swirling, cloudy, or web-like from top to bottom of the container, OR all sinks to the bottom, then you have an overgrowth of candida. If all your spit sits on top the water, you probably do not have an overgrowth of candida.

Once you determine if candida is an issue for you, then you can do something about it! 

Candida itself is often just a symptom of other issues, so the first step is to remove the excess amount and that will make it easier to address the root cause of the problem; we'll go deeper into this in future posts.
