Introduction / 介绍
This free-of-charge event is held on every first and third Sunday of every month from 7am until 9am where the busy roads on the heart of bustling metropolis will be closed for traffic during this period. Participants can take this opportunity to truly enjoy the view of the city center at their own pace without having to worry about traffics. We can choose to jog, cycle, skateboard, roller-skate, roller-blade or just simply walk. The main purpose of this event is to grow the health-consciousness among Malaysians.
/这无需付任何费用的活动会在每一个月的第一个跟第三个星期天从早上七点到早上九点举行。在这两个小时里,市区里一些车水马龙的街道都会关闭不让摩托车,汽车,巴士行驶。我们可以趁这个机会,以我们自己的步伐从不同的角度欣赏这漂亮的吉隆坡市区。我们可以选择跑步,骑单车,滑板,滑轮或者慢慢的步行都没问题。

The Route / 路线
The 7KM route starts from Menara Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur City Hall Building) located on Jalan Raja Laut, then turn into Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Dang Wangi, loops around to Jalan P. Ramlee and Jalan Ampang and back to Menara Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. We will pass by some of the iconic landmarks in city center such as Sogo, Pertama Complex, Hard Rock Café and of course the double-corn Petronas Twin Tower!
/这个路线总共有7公里长。起点就是在位于Jalan Raja Laut的市政府。从Jalan Raja Laut我们会去到Jalan Sultan Ismail,Jalan Dang Wangi,然后转去Jalan P. Ramlee,还有Jalan Ampang。这路线也会带我们经过一些市区里经典的地标,如Sogo,Pertama Complex,Hard Rock 餐厅,还有当然少不了双子塔啦!

My experience / 我的经验
I've participated this event multiple times. The road closure was perfectly done. There are traffic police on key junctions to prevent vehicles entering the closed route and provide advice to drivers on alternative routes. Medical teams are available along the route to provide assistant in case of an emergency. The multi-lanes road is separated by cones, the left lane is for runners and casual walkers, and the right lane is for the cyclist, skateboarder, roller-skater, roller-blader etc. This is a very good move by the organizer to reduce the chances of running being hit by fast pace cyclist. Many times there is water station available at the start/finish area too. Overall, I am very satisfied with this very well-organized event.
/隆市无车日我参与过很多次了。每个主要的路口都会有交通警察协助维持交通秩序,而且会建议司机走其它的路线。医疗队也会在路线上准备在发生紧急情况时提供服务。街道都会分成两段,左边是给跑步者或步行者使用,而右边的车道是让骑单车,滑板,滑轮者使用。这就可以避免跑步者或步行者与单车的意外发生了。很多时候在终点都会有一些赞助商提供饮料或开水让我们补充水分。总体来说,我对这主办单位很满意。
For those who fancy cycling, but without bikes, no worries, OCBC Cycle bicycles are available for the public to rent without charges. All you need to do it just show them the ID card. However, for hygienic reason, the helmet is not available for rent. For safety reason, I strongly encourage to wear a helmet during cycling. So please prepare your own helmet.
/有谁想去那边骑自行车而又没有一台自行车的,没问题,华侨银行会赞助骑行车让公众借用。不需付任何费用,只要拿出身份证就可以了。因为卫生上的问题,他们没有安全帽出租。为了安全起见,我个人很鼓励骑行是至少戴上安全帽,所以请自己准备安全帽哦。

Transportation / 交通
The starting point is just stone throw away from Masjid Jamek LRT station. Or if we choose to drive, there are multiple places where we can park our vehicle. I highlighted some of the parking area below.
