How to Yoga - Garland Pose

Good day, Steemians!

"Progress is not possible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." -- George Bernard Shaw from @quinneaker's post the other day

Huge changes are underway.
Shifts are happening on Steemit--
I miss the HTML editor,
respected users are bouncing,
and the value of Steem is dropping.
These are interesting developments,
and I'm curious to see how it is handled.
It's an opportunity for improvement & investment as far as I see.
I'm still committed to success here.
More significant for my life directly
is the expansion/relocation
of the Garden of Eden ecovillage
where I have lived for 2 years,
into the wide open possibilities of Eden 2.0,
a vision that's been in the works for 10 years.
With so much uncertainty,
grounding is a necessity
to stay anchored, rooted, and stable.
Without connection to the bigger picture
and firm commitment to success in whatever form it appears,
I am prone to confusion and weakness.
For me, it's time for hardcore focus on priorities.
I continue holding steady and staying the course.
Eyes on the prize, and all that jazz.
Here is my daily yoga, in hopes that it helps you
buckle down and achieve what's important.

This is Garland Pose

AKA Malasana in Sanskrit
(mala = garland/a string of beads like a rosary, asana = pose/posture)

Garland pose is grounding.

This is the yogi squat.
A mala is a strand of 108 beads,
and there might be that many variations to this pose.
as you can see I prefer to draw my heels together
and balance on my toes, and
but you could firmly root the soles of your feet.

Squats strengthen the lower body.
Depending on your hand placement,
you can get a deep stretch for the shoulders too
by pressing the elbows into the thighs with palms in prayer position.
You can forward fold if you want more.

It's a total blessing to know a way
to move your body to get your mind correct.
This one helps you center when you feel out of whack.
Come back to yourself
and your purpose.

How to GARLAND POSE:

  • From mountain pose, bring the feet as close together or far apart as you wish.
  • Extend through the crown and maintain open shoulders.
  • Bend the legs and lower the tailbone to the heels.
  • Come down to wherever it feels good to hang out for a bit.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Breathe in, breathe out.
