Okra belongs to the mallow family. It is grown in tropical and subtropic regions for example Nigeria . It is good in low calorie. Okra is rich in vitamins and minerals, some of the vitamins are vitamins A, C, B, K and E, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. Okra has been known for its ability for cleansing the liver and also prevents liver disease. It contains substances that bind bile acid and cholesterol to detoxify the liver. It even prevents the accumulation of fats in the liver. To improve the health of your liver, it is good you consider adding okra in your diet or take its supplements.

Fights against cancer:
Okra from recent research has been found to contain antioxidant called polyphenol and some immune compounds which can help fight against cancer.
The presence of Lecithins in okra also help in inducing cancer cell death (apoptosis).

Also the presence of folate(a family of Vitamin B) also helps prevent miscarriages.
