I make these oatmeal jars twice a week depending on how much fruit I have to use up. Today I grabbed a bag of berries on sale to make a berry batch, so I thought I'd share this super quick and healthy (and pretty cheap, especially if you use homegrown fruit or homemade yogurt) make ahead breakfast with you!

Decide how many jars you need and lets start!

Last step, fruit! I used frozen berries this time, I have made them with blueberries, strawberries, apple sauce and cinnamon and once I added cacao powder to a batch of strawberry. They were incredible!

now cap 'em and fridge 'em. They will be good to go by morning

And this is what they turn out like the next day after a good stir or shake. They are the bomb!! Filling and healthy!

I am off to eat this and get my day going! Thank you @goldendawne for creating #Healthy2018 :) It is a great idea to share tips and plans!

OVERNIGHT OATMEAL JARS
amounts per jar

1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1/3 cup plant based or dairy milk
2 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp hemp seeds
1 tsp honey or maple syrup or 1/2 avage syrup
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4-1/2 cup fruit, frozen or fresh

Line up the number of jars you are going to make. Dump the first 5 ingredients into the bottom of each jar, one after the other. I do a quick mix together then add yogurt to the jars. I skipped this step the first time and some of the chia seeds stayed hard...yuck Now finish with your fruit and done! Put the lid on and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

They are ready to eat after 8 hours in the fridge. The milk and yogurt softens the oats and seeds and they can be eaten cold straight out of the jar...just give it a stir and you are good to go!!

Thank you for reading! Take care of you and yours❤
