Attempt to Hike the Bynuten

691 Meters Climb

Yesterday me and @sintfisk attempted to hike to the top of Bynuten, it was a sunny day, with just a few white clouds in the sky.
Just a couple hundred meters walked from the car and we are met with this beautiful view over Ryfylket, with white mountain tops in the distance.

As soon as we got to the first lake just behind the first mountain the weather started to change.

At the second lake we noticed the dark grey clouds coming in behind us, but decided to continue on with the hike to in hope of getting to the top.

Just before we started the last climb to the top, it started snowing, and the fog was rolling in over the mountains. At this point we remembered the first rule of the hiking book, "its never a shame to turn around". We decided to descend to lower altitude, and find another way back down.

We went back down to the second lake and crossed over to the other side of the lake to find another way around the mountain and back to my car.
We found this lovely little river with ice bridges over it.

The weather cleared up, and we got some sun as we went further down the mountain.

Well, that was it for this hike, we didn't make it all the way to the top, but never the less it was a good hike and remember its never a shame to turn back if the weather starts to get bad.
Have you been hiking and had to turn around? let me know in the comments below.

And as always, Life is so much better in hiking shoes!
