Spring is on it's way! It's sunny and warm today, let's go on an adventure to Misson Creek in kelowna BC, Canada and check out the ice breaks!
It's about 10c out today, warmest weather iv'e felt since fall, this is GREAT!!!
Some really interesting ice formations here...Iv'e got to be extra careful where I step, there's a been a couple times where my foot went right through the ice!
“Ice burns, and it is hard to the warm-skinned to distinguish one sensation, fire, from the other, frost.”
― A.S. Byatt, Elementals: Stories of Fire and Ice
There's a whole gang of ducks here just chillin' out. looks like they're having a quaktastic time!!!
Some curious formations of some sort...
“ice contains no future , just the past, sealed away. As if they're alive, everything in the world is sealed up inside, clear and distinct. Ice can preserve all kinds of things that way- cleanly, clearly. That's the essence of ice, the role it plays.”
― Haruki Murakami, Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman
I always find it fascinating how sometimes a log will fall perfectly across a river, as to form a perfect bridge to the other side...
This area is quite surreal...a swampy patch with strange dead trees and tiny streams running all over the place.
“Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.”
― Robert Frost
Thanks for coming along on my hike along mission Creek! It's been fun as always and i'm looking forward to the warmer weather as spring kicks into high gear. Much love to the #steemit community! Until next time, #steem on!!!
