Gracias por acompañarme durante todo este año y los espero, el próximo, con gran entusiasmo. Para esta edición 79 de "Arte y Escritura" el invitado será el pintor francés Paul Cézanne.

Se formó en la Universidad de Marsella y en la Academia Suiza. Sus obras fueron rechazadas, durante cinco años, en el Salón de París. Tuvo una fuerte influencia de Camille Pissarro quien además fue su tutor. Esa época fue muy importante para Cézanne porque su obra cambió de tonos oscuros a colores brillantes y pintó al aire libre.
Tanto su vida personal como su vida artística fueron una verdadera montaña rusa. Pintores reconocidos de su época lo ubicaban como ejemplo de un pintor fracasado. Otros pintores compartían su visión de transición, su irrespeto a la perspectiva y a la annatomía perfecta.
En 1895, a la edad de 56 años, y Ambroise Vollard le organizó su primera exposición individual con 100 lienzos, la cual tuvo un gran éxito. Este mismo galerista de arte logró que las obras de Cézanne se cotizaran mejor y lo promocionó por varios años.
Las pinturas de Paul Cézanne se hicieron conocidas y fueron buscadas, obteniendo así el respeto de la nueva generación de pintores.
Los periodos de Cézanne se pueden reconocer fácilmente: oscuro, impresionista, postimpresionista, bodegones y retratos.
Murió de neumonía, en octubre de 1906, en su ciudad natal Aix-en-Provence. Su legado fue enorme y sus conceptos dejan muchos aprendizajes, entre ellos deseo destacar dos:
"Cuando juzgo el arte, cojo mi cuadro y lo pongo junto a un objeto obra de Dios como un árbol o una flor. Si desentona, no es arte."
"Todo en la naturaleza se modela según la esfera, el cono, el cilindro. Hay que aprender a pintar sobre la base de estas figuras simples; después se podrá hacer todo lo que se quiera."
A continuación les presentaremos tres de sus obras para que usted escoja la que más los motive a escribir. La primera se llama: "Retrato de un campesino” (1905-1906), la segunda, "Las grandes bañistas" (1906) y la última, "Vista de Auvers" (1873).

He trained at the University of Marseille and the Swiss Academy. His works were rejected, for five years, at the Paris Salon. He had a strong influence from Camille Pissarro who was also his tutor. That time was very important for Cézanne because his work changed from dark tones to bright colors and he painted outdoors.
Both his personal life and his artistic life were a real roller coaster. Renowned painters of his time placed him as an example of a failed painter. Other painters shared his transitional vision, his disrespect for perspective and perfect anatomy.
In 1895, at the age of 56, Ambroise Vollard organized his first individual exhibition with 100 canvases, which was a great success. This same art gallery owner managed to get Cézanne's works to be valued better and promoted him for several years.
Paul Cézanne's paintings became known and sought after, thus gaining the respect of the new generation of painters.
Cézanne's periods can be easily recognized: dark, impressionist, post-impressionist, still life and portraits.
He died of pneumonia, in October 1906, in his hometown of Aix-en-Provence. His legacy was enormous and his concepts left many lessons learned, among them I want to highlight two:
"When I judge art, I take my painting and put it next to an object made by God like a tree or a flower. If it clashes, it is not art."
"Everything in nature is modeled after the sphere, the cone, the cylinder. You have to learn to paint based on these simple figures; Afterwards you can do whatever you want."
Below we will present three of his works so that you can choose the one that most motivates you to write. The first is called: "Portrait of a Peasant" (1905-1906), the second, "The Great Bathers" (1906) and the last, "View of Auvers" ( 1873).
