Horizon| Watercolour Painting

Horizon

I believe there won't be anyone who hates going to the beach in the evenings. Standing there looking to the horizon has always been a beautiful experience for me. This gives me so much relief from the stress and pressure of life. Helps me to make my mind blank like a kite flying in the sky without a thread.

Tools used
Artist grade watercolours

Paper - A5, 320gsm

Abandoned painting over the wet surface to get rid of unwanted mixing up. Letting enough time for drying means more sharpen the next layer.

Making of the Painting

Sketching
Used masking tape to fix the paper canvas on a flat drawing board. Made the basic sketch of the drawing roughly with an Hb pencil.

Painting the background
Started painting the background with a very light shade. Stick with wet on wet methode for creating the whole background layer, then kept the painting for drying.

Detailing
Made sure that the painting is completely dry. Started painting the character. Then increased the sharpness of the colours and the overall contrast in each steps. Used darker colours to make shadows.

Finishing
Completed the painting and removed the masking tapes from the edges with good care.
