CCS Contest April Theme "Beauty of Nature" – Spring is in the air

It is april and it is spring time and I am back in Norway after a holiday on the island of Mauritus. Once again I will share with you part of the Norwegian nature. With this post I also will participate in the competition "Share the beauty of nature around you». This time it will be photos from a place north of Kristiansand, taken in the month of April. It is now that nature begins to wake up after winter. But since April is still a cold month, we don't see much flowers yet. We usually have to wait until the month of May. But it depends on the temperature.

Kristiansand is located in the southern part of Norway. We have beautiful places just outside the city. Both forest, mountains and beaches that gives us lots of oportunies to go for walks. The photos were taken on a hike with friends. The place is Vennesla, just north of Kristiansand.

The trail we chose to follow started with two wheel tracks that led us up the slopes, before we were back at where we startet. The trail was alomost 10 kilometers. The weather was great. But no flowers are blooming yet. April is the month where some flowers will start blooming, but this will only happend close to the coast. On our hike we were several hundred of meters above sea level. That's why there were no flowers yet, but some of the trees are beginning to burst out with buds and flowers. It was never the less a great hike through beautiful landscape.
