Italy. Milan. Milan Cathedral. Duomo di Milano
Milan is located in the northern part of Italy and is a global city. It is the administrative center of the Lombardy region. Milan is one of the centers of World fashion, a trendsetter city. This city attracts a lot of tourists with this. People go to outlets to buy fashionable clothes at great discounts.
But it wasn't always like that. Italy is a country where almost every square meter is filled with history. Milan was founded in the VI-V centuries BC by Gauls, Celts or Franks. Different sources name different histories of the foundation of the city.
I visited this city in December 2017, on Christmas Eve. Of course, I was amazed by the Milan Cathedral. It is one of the majestic Catholic cathedrals of Italy and the World. This cathedral is also called the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The construction of the Cathedral was started in 1386 and it can be said that it continues to this day. I was on the roof of this Cathedral and saw that its modernization was continuing.

I was under the Cathedral itself. It turns out that there was a sanctuary at this place back in the days of Ancient Rome - the old octagonal baptistery, which was built in 355 but was destroyed in 1560.
This Cathedral is history itself! In this cathedral, there is a nail with which Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross..
And imagine friends, crowds of tourists, many of whom simply do not care about all this ancient history. They're just hanging out here, taking selfies.
I would like to add that the security of this Cathedral is set at the highest level. It is forbidden to bring even any liquids inside. At the entrance, an inspection is carried out by carabinieri and the military. These are serious guys, they are always on guard.
Friends, if you have the opportunity to visit this city, then do not even hesitate, go. There are a lot of interesting places there that cannot be shown in one photo unless you make a collage.
