Hello, my friends on Steem
This is my answer to the task of the Photo contest (results + new edition) 20 STEEM by Steem-Traveler.
10% of the publication rewards from this post go to the development of the Steem-Traveler.
This is Russia. We can say that the very heartland of Russia. There's nowhere deeper.
You can't drive up to this forest by car. There is no such road to it. You can only approach it with your feet or ride upon a bicycle.
This small forest is located in the Kostroma region in Makaryev city. Makaryev is an old Russian city. It is located on the banks of the Unzha River, which flows into the Volga.
On the edge of the city, on the high bank of the river, there is a convent. This forest is located just on a steep ascent from the river to the monastery's high wall.
Once upon a time during the Middle Ages, such monasteries with high walls served as protection of cities from enemy raids.
Now, these high banks are overgrown with trees and impenetrable bushes. In this forest, you can see very fancy pine trees. A lot of pine trees were subjected to a big hurricane a few years ago and now they stand with broken tops and large branches.
But in the photo, the pine trees are smooth, thin, and tall. Such pines are called "ship trees". They are like masts on sailboats.
I will add that when I walked there last time, the weather was sunny and cloudless. I walked with my wife and daughter to the water source, which is located under the mountain. As always in such cases, water is considered holy, healing, and rejuvenating.
I would say that the forest itself is always healing and rejuvenating. I love the forest, I practically live in the forest. And I wish you, friends, all the best.
