Hi guys, It's another weekend with SteemTV Show....!
Today's edition of SteemTV focuses on "Nature and the Environment".I spoke with @petface - a Vibrant UK Citizen who loves natural things around her - the unique nature and wildlife that surround her which is what she tries to do through photography and the text she puts here in the blog.
How are human activities impacting the natural environment where you live? Are there any technological innovations around where you live that can manage the natural environment? How do you think we can promote sustainable use of natural resources both in your community and probably the world at large?
After sharing a few thoughts on those questions above, I will like to read your opinion in the Comment Section...Perhaps you could use the questions above as your guide.
A famous naturalist and conservationist once said "In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks". - John Muir
I strongly believe that Muir was referring to the transformative experience one gets while spending time in nature.
This experience is nothing far from healing power, inspiration and supernatural enlightenment.
Nature has its way of making individuals achieve a sense of peace and connection with the world.
I personally do appreciate the beautiful work of nature, anywhere I come across or even read about it I'm always so fascinated and eager to learn more new things about it.
Each and every one of us here in the blog will agree to the fact that nature and the environment are essential components of our lives.
Hence, proper and preferential care should be given to how we handle these essential components.
It is however sad that due to the increasing pace of industrialization, urbanization and population growth, there has been a decline or degradation of our natural system and environment. Whilst I wouldn't want to point the finger at a country I know that is a victim of this - It is a shame! I hope they can do something about It.
Rectifying this isn't a one-man affair, everyone has to put their hands on deck to achieve this. Ranging from the government to various individuals.
The need for education and awareness raising about nature and the environment should not be undermined as this can help to improve behavioural change and foster a culture of sustainability because our natural system and environment only survive and thrives when there is sustainability and progression.
The importance of nature are not limited to the following:
- Purification of air and water
- Regulation of climate change
- Psychological and health benefits when exposed to wonders of nature
- Cultural and spiritual significance as many cultures have developed a deep connections to the natural world
- Recreation and tourism
- Provision of food, fuel, medicine and other resources
- Oxygen production
If we collectively protect our environment and natural system, we are imparting to the current and future generations, mother earth could be a very nice place.
Join me as I speak with @petface about her environment...
