The Interview Showcase #100 - Exclusive Talk with an Indian Mechanical engineer /blogger

Special note on the 100th edition of the Interview showcase

The interview showcase is now on it's 100th week since it's birth..., it is the "big100"! This would mark the 24th edition of the interview showcase for the year 2024.

Congratulations to all the friends who belief on this project for the past two years and to all who have been supporting all these while.

To all the friends who granted me interviews, to all who directed me to other contacts, to all who reads and learn one or two things from this little contribution, I want to thank you for being a backup and great supporter of this little program. And to those who turned down my interviews and some even ignored my messages for months, year, years without a word making me abash... I still want to say thank you, regardless. I can only move forward.

Maybe within the week or by next week, I would write about some untold stories about the interview showcase. Stay tune, it would be interesting.

The essence of this program was to showcase the users behind a particular account. This lifestyle program has many educational values. A weekly interview of users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.

It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steem and Steemit itself.

I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.

They also share some tips that can help other users understand the blockchain and correctly use it. Sometimes they seek valuable suggestions here to help them solve some of their challenges.

On this 100th weeks of the interview showcase case, I would be talking with an Indian engineer who have worked in many field of skills for the past years. Presently, he is one of the Steem representative and a known fiction writer who is sailing through on this space. Let's welcome @dove11 to my show.

Ubongudofot
: Hello Dove, what's the full meaning of that name...and what can you tell us about yourself in one sentence?

🔶Dove11: Hello Steemians, my username is dove11 which has been on my mind ever since I bought eleven pigeons from a bird seller and freed them. I paid INR 100 for each of those eleven birds, but the peace of mind I had was indescribable. Probably that was on my mind when I selected this username.

Ubongudofot
: You joined Steemit sometimes ago, how did you hear about the platform and why did you join?

🔶Dove11: I have been online for almost 23 years since the internet was available to us at an affordable price. Initially, I joined various Indian websites, but later I joined international forums. I heard about this website in 2017 and visited it, but it did not join. But in 2022, when the same forum member shared his referral link, I visited again and joined.

Ubongudofot
: .What will you say is the best thing you've observed about the platform so far?

🔶Dove11: To be frank, I am neutral on this topic, as I know nothing about blockchain, although I have been dealing with cryptocurrencies since 2011. I consider this platform another blogging opportunity for me. However, I am grateful for the response I received and for reaching my present status within a short time.

I completed two years on this platform last month on May 14, and I feel I am doing okay and learning fast. I have no experience with blockchain, and you know that, if you remember, you gave me three marks in my first post out of ten in a crypto related post. I do not write anything related to crypto, but my niche is travel and management.

Ubongudofot
: As a curator in one of the small SC account, how do you detect a fake user?

🔶Dove11: I have been an editor and moderator of various Indian and international websites that do not exist any more, but I know how to find fake users. In fact, I know fake accounts as soon as I see their content, and as a moderator of different communities, I have found them and informed the authorities. In case I feel any problem, I refer such users to experts to let them do the needful.

Ubongudofot
: If you were to be a developer, what contributions would you have made on the Steemit Blog chain?

🔶Dove11: Sorry, that's out of my reach, so I will pass this question.

Ubongudofot
: What do you think can be done to attract/maintain more users from your country?

🔶Dove11: We should change our policy at the gate. I am suggesting the way we verify the new authors is not acceptable to established writers, especially from European and other developed countries. If we had a little more flexible policy for users who are experts in their fields, maybe this platform would see a better list of authors.

There is another problem that Indian users face which is the 33% tax that we pay on every crypto related transaction so people avoid joining such sites.

Ubongudofot
: What's your real life profession?

🔶Dove11: I did my mechanical engineering and PG diploma in welding technology. I started my career as a shift engineer, but I wanted to join the marketing force, so I completed business management later.

We all know mechanical engineers make a difference in the industry. I have worked in different fields like welding electrodes, especially the ones used for special alloys, welding transformers, a complete project of cement plants, and later in the electronics industry. Incidentally, I entered the electronic industry when public telephone services were in their initial stages and the PCO industry was doing very well.

Later, I entered the field of marketing, as it provided me with the chance to travel to different places. If you check my profile page, you will mostly see I post in the travel or fiction categories. Maybe you are aware that I am associated with Travel Steem and Dream Steem for my love of travel and fiction.

I was handling equipment used in the milk industry as my last project in Australia, but no more as I quit my job on May 21st, and right now I am in India, but I have a plan to go back after a few months and settle there.

Ubongudofot
: If you were to talk to all users about the adjustments they need to make while blogging, what will it be?

🔶Dove11: I would suggest they be true and honest about their writing and give their best, the rest will fall into place on its own.*

Ubongudofot
: Whose Steemit blog are you most entertained?

🔶Dove11: I love reading @ weisser-rabe, @ goodybest, @ ripon0630 and @ josevas217.

Ubongudofot
: What's your biggest fear in life?

🔶Dove11: Not really; as an adult, I have overcome the fear of death, which is the biggest fear of most of us. I believe the one who comes to this world goes back to his maker. So, I have no such fear, and I have reached a stage in my life where there is nothing that scares me, including financial problems.

Ubongudofot
: How can fictional contents be made interesting , attract audience and without plagiarism in the blog?

🔶Dove11: That's a nice one, as I don't have to chalk out fiction writing, it's always based on a keyword provided by the contest creator, so as soon as I read the keyword, I try to think about the possibilities and let my imagination do the rest. There is no formula to write fiction or travel related posts, as one is based on pure imagination and the other is based on your real experience.

Ubongudofot
: Where are some best places you would recommend for tourism in India and Australia?

🔶Dove11: Oh, that's a complicated question, as both of these countries are full of travel destinations. India is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and Arabian Sea on three sides, and the Great Himalayas in the fourth. We have hundreds of world renowned beaches and hundreds of hill resorts, besides yoga and meditation ceters, that attract millions of tourists every year. Apart from these, we are the oldest civilisation in the world and offer something to every taste.

As far as Australia is concerned, this country is full of natural tourist places and if I give you details of the places, I will have to write a book. In brief, all Australian states are worth visiting, and the seven metropolises of the country have something to offer visitors that come here to experience the best of nature.

I write what I see in the real world, so yeah, it's a mixture of real life and the experience we gain. You can say that I take my visitors to places that they want to always visit. I also wrote fiction right from a very young age, when there was no TV, internet, etc., and my stories were published in national children's magazines. In fact, I never wanted to be a professional but a sportsman and traveler. I started solo traveling at a very young age, when I had enough money to do so.

Ubongudofot
: If you were to turn back the hands of time, what would you restore from your childhood?

🔶Dove11: Yes, I would like to go back to my 17th year, when I was on the brink of getting selected for the district cricket team, and a promised place is the state team. But as fate would have it, my father was dead against games, so I could not join the team; otherwise, I would not be a corporate worker but a sportsman.

Ubongudofot
: What's the best advice you have ever gotten?

🔶Dove11: Honest! I always taught that honesty is the best policy, but I believe honesty is not a policy but a religion for everyone. I believe honesty comes to you naturally, but if you talk about policy, I would say, "Dishonesty is a policy" that people choose to push honest people behind and grab what they don't really deserve.

Ubongudofot
: As a married man, I guess, what great tips can you share with young men who are considering settling down with marriage mates soon?

🔶Dove11: The best thing is to treat your partner as you wish to be treated yourself. Give them their space, and let them do what they want to do. If you overpress them, your marriage is bound to break. So love and cooperation are the key in a marriage.

I give you an example through this song, which is my favorite most.

Ubongudofot
: What changes will you like to see on Steemit blog?

🔶Dove11: If you feel my opinion matters, I would like them to change the format of SEC. The rest is fine.

Ubongudofot
: * What's your favourite secular music?*

🔶Dove11: To be frank, I am not a religious person who listens to religious music, although I trust in God. As a matter of fact, we live in a country where different religions live and adjust to each other peacefully, so if I had to give you one, I would choose.

Ubongudofot
: Why do Indians dance and play music in almost all their movies?

🔶Dove11: Oh that. Actually, Indians are not one community but a mix of large societies that have diverse trust and beliefs. As you probably know, India has a large history that is believed to be thousands of years old, and all societies have their own cultures and beliefs that they display through music and dance. Probably that is the reason Indians have something to dance about for every occasion. The traditions still go on, as we have something to dance about for every occasion.

Ubongudofot
: Which user or user would you like me to feature on my Interview Showcase?

🔶Dove11: I will suggest you talk to @josevas217 or @weisser-rabe if you haven't already talked to them.

Ubongudofot
: I have already featured this interesting users.

Ubongudofot
: What message do you have for the Steemit team?

🔶Dove11: Keep up what you're already doing, but keep an eye on opportunists. They should form a team specifically for this purpose to stop giving a big chunk of rewards to non-deserving users.

Ubongudofot
: What can you say about the interview, Showcase?

🔶Dove11: As you know, as a member of this platform, I see most of your posts and learn something from the users you talk to. Every interview is an experience in itself, which should be given more publicity so the users of this platform understand what the right way is to reach the top.

Ubongudofot
: Now you are one of the Steem Representative, how do you feel, how is the role going so far? What have you observed that you would like to point?

🔶Dove11: I have been working for newcomers for a long time, keeping them as beneficiaries in a couple of posts every week, besides starting contests for them. I pay in SP, besides delegating SP, as long as they get established. I am trying my best and concentrating on returning to this platform what I have received.

As a matter of fact, I have never withdrawn any funds apart from once for testing purposes, but I brought back that amount at the first opportunity. I am trying my best to increase my voting power to help my fellow steemians especially the newcomers. Being a Steem Representative has provided me with an excellent opportunity to do so.

Ubongudofot
