The Interview Showcase #47 - Exclusive Talk with Steem Representative/Greeter from Venezuela

Hello,

It's The Interview Showcase!!!. with your host ubongudofot. This is the 47th Edition of “The Interview Showcase...." and my 17th show for 2023!

A lifestyle program that comes with many educational values. A weekly interview of top users/users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.

It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steemit itself.

I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with top Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.

They also share some tips that can help other users to understand the blockchain and correctly make use of it. Sometimes they seek some valuable suggestions here which can help them solve some of their challenges.

This week I will be speaking with @wilmer1988 from Venezuela. He is one of the recently appointed Steem Representatives, and also a greeter in the Newcomers' Community. He has been blogging here for the past four years.
He is mostly known for his daily content known as "the diary game".

Ubongudofot
: Hello Wilmer, it's nice to have you on my Interview Showcase today, how will you describe yourself to other users?

🔶 Wilmer1988: First of all I want to thank you my friend @ubongudofot for the opportunity to be part of this very original initiative carried out by you, I know that we have wanted this meeting for a long time but today we finally have it.

Well, first of all, I consider myself faithful to God and everything that he presents to us, I am a father and a family man, for which day by day I give my best in everything that the forces allow me to do for our well-being and safety, on the other part within steemit I am 100% dedicated to what I like, and it is important to do what we like and that is reflected in the results.

Ubongudofot
: How old are you in steemit ? And how will you describe steemit transition since you joined?

🔶 Wilmer1988: I came to steemit in mid-2019, and during this time steemit, as well as thousands of users, has become a complete blessing, it was a fundamental pillar to be able to cope with the pandemic and today it shows us a promising future that we have.

Ubongudofot
: What has been your biggest achievement on steemit?

🔶 Wilmer1988: One of the things that have given me the most satisfaction in these almost 4 years has been, being able to see my family grow within the platform and being able to write a story together on it today.Turning this digital world into an important part of our life day to day is an achivement.

Ubongudofot
: What does it take to be a greeter and what are some of the challenges you faced as a greeter?

🔶 Wilmer1988: First of all, the desire to help and contribute, it is important to have the desire to help other users and give them our knowledge and skills in a way that is very easy for these newcomers to understand.

Among the great challenges that I encounter as a greeter is the difficult task of fighting against farm accounts and fake profiles that seek to deceive the platform and flee with the rewards.

Ubongudofot
: How can users contribute to the success of your job as a greeter?

🔶 Wilmer1988: First of all, if you invite a user, support him in his first steps and leave comments that serve as an indicator of his true identity.

It is important to review all the necessary aspects to be able to make achievements that are validated correctly, for this you must review the guidelines and achievements we already verified as a guide for our publication.

Ubongudofot
: I noticed Steem Venezuela is powering down presently, can you enlighten users on what this is all about and why?

🔶Wilmer1988: Yes, thanks for this excellent question, our team currently decided to undertake a new project and approach for our Steem Venezuela community and for this, we must put aside the old account @hive-193637 and promote a new future through the new account @teamvenezuela.

All our team remains the same and all the power-down of the @hive-193637 account will be moved to the new @teamvenezuela account where the changes will be noticed very soon.

Ubongudofot
: I see...

Ubongudofot
: How have you contributed to steem's growth in your country?

🔶 Wilmer1988: For several years we have been the largest community of steemians on this platform, the receptivity of steemit within the Venezuelan Internet user has been a total success, which has generated a great impact on the development of this medium.

I have always tried to bring steemit to everyone who could give it value, trying to show them the great future potential that this tool has to offer and this has made me a reflection of what steemit really is.

Ubongudofot
: Most Communities come to the platform, make money and leave, do you think this can help the platform or users to grow if they keep doing that?

🔶 Wilmer1988: Unfortunately this also happens with many large and small users, which means that the platform cannot grow enough and all the support given to a user or community is lost.

The loss of this type of community and accounts represents a delay in the development of the platform, and creates a bad practice that is constantly repeated by other users who see this as an opportunity to benefit.

Ubongudofot
: Don't worry, the solution is on the way.

Ubongudofot
: By the way, do you think a multi-sig wallet will help solve this?

🔶 Wilmer1988: It would be a possible alternative for communities that depend on several people in their administration, but users and communities with a greater commitment and experience when it comes to granting rewards should also be taken into account.

Unfortunately there are many users who use steemit as their source of income for daily living funds and without much dedication are able to raise and power down their accounts at will, giving a very bad example to other users who in the end adopt this same model. That's a bad example.

Ubongudofot
: Steem Venezuela has the highest number of diary game activities on the blog, how does that make you feel?

🔶 Wilmer1988: As many will know, I am one of the main participants in this initiative by publishing close to 1000 diaries till this moment, and this initiative is a great step that marked activities carried out each day before and after for Steemit, which is why it makes me feel very good to see this project continue.

Ubongudofot
: You seem to have been doing great in the platform, what advice will you tell other users in general to make such great progress?

🔶 Wilmer1988: Dedication, perseverance and effort are synonymous with success. In everything you do in life, never stop and always give 200% until you achieve your goals, do not faint in the process and you will surely reap satisfaction.

Ubongudofot
: If you were to visit Africa which country will you like to visit and how long will you want to stay?

🔶 Wilmer1988: Wow, Africa...? 😊Incredibly I had never thought about it! I think I would like to get to know Nigeria, it is a very active country in steemit and this activity has led me to get to know its happy culture, its striking gastronomy, the friendly way of its inhabitants always smiling with colourful clothing, I think I would have a great time there also, I have good steemian friends in Nigeria.

Ubongudofot
: As a married man and the head, how do you balance your daily activities while still carrying out your duties as Steem Representative and moderator in your country's community

🔶 Wilmer1988: It is not easy at all since I lead a quite full life inside and outside of steemit, generally my day needs about 18 hours of 100% dedicated to the fulfilment of my duties in both worlds, there is no time for other things but in the end, I get satisfaction to do what I like..

Ubongudofot
: Which user or users will you like
me to interview in my show and why?

🔶 Wilmer1988: I think @nahela would be the perfect option, she is a girl with a great career within steemit and she is also a charming person, she is just as she looks on the platform and I think she would be a great interview for your initiative.

Ubongudofot
: What do you like doing in your leisure?

🔶 Wilmer1988: Wow, free time...? If I have such, I will probably return to some type of study again, carry out enriching activities and enjoy my family much more and share their interests, I could resume sports and entertainment hobbies..

Ubongudofot
: What's your kind of music and what can you say about modern music?

🔶 Wilmer1988: As a good Latino I love salsa, it is a complex rhythm that is enjoyed a lot and that identifies us all over the world, I invite you to enjoy a good salsa that also has a mixture of African rhythms.

Ubongudofot
: Ofcourse I enjoy it. The salsa music sounds much like Seun Kuti's music in Nigeria, here is it below

Ubongudofot
: Have you heard any Nigerian song before?

🔶 Wilmer1988: No, definitely not, I have never had the opportunity to know their music and their musical exponents.

Ubongudofot
: Alright, I just shared one above.

Ubongudofot
: Who is your biggest inspiration in life?

🔶 Wilmer1988: My grandfather, on several occasions, I have shared all the details about him, I think he is an important part of everything I am today and unfortunately he has not been with us for 2 years😓.

Ubongudofot
: I'm so sorry man.

Ubongudofot
: What can you say about the Interview Showcase, do you think it is interesting and should be continued?

🔶 Wilmer1988: Yes, it is a super initiative that provides a fresh and different space for all those interviewed and also for its followers. I congratulate you and encourage you to continue with this great idea.

Ubongudofot
: What message do you want to pass to the steemit team?

🔶 Wilmer1988: I am always grateful for the contribution that this great project has given to the lives of those who are part of this world today, a world of opportunities within our reality full of difficulties that drives us to move forward.

Let's go ahead, build a great future and make steemit a social network that changes lives. It is a pleasure to be part of this prestigious space, I had a great time…
