Chris Wilder has been in-charge of Sheffield United for five years now. He took the managerial role at Sheffield United in 2016 and has been carrying out his duties up until 2021 while also setting some new records at the club. When he took over as manager, Sheffield United were still underperforming in the England League One competition.

In the span of three years, he took Sheffield United from the England League One to their major league which is the English Premier League. Sheffield United got promoted to the Championship league in Wilder first year in-charge. In his second batch Bramall Lane, he took Sheffield United to the Premier League. It didn't end there, in the 2019-20 season, Sheffield United finished at the ninth position in the EPL.
That was a really huge achievement for Chris Wilder and the team. Sadly, things turned out badly in his fourth and fifth year. The boys weren't performing as they used to; the momentum cooled down and they started sinking. No coach wants this but it will always happen; unexpected injuries will set in, some key players will be sold out and other factors.
Currently in the 2021 EPL season, Sheffield United have been sitting at the bottom for almost throughout the season. So far, Chris Wilder have only managed to win only four matches from 28 games he has played so far. More so, Sheffield United have scored only 16 goals whereas they have concedes 45 goals.
It has been a bad season for them and I would not blame the club if they want to relieve Wilder of his duties at the club. As it stands, Sheffield United are already relegated because no magic can save them now. All the same, let us see what the remaining fixtures holds for them with their next game being with Leicester City.
Leicester City have been exceptional this season so, if Sheffield United gets to grab three points from them, that will be a miracle. It is going to be a tough game and there odds are that Brendan Rodgers will win to further consolidate his stand in the top four.
