1000 Days of Steem, My Trial Diary

IMG_6888.jpg

As a newbie, the first thing I got attracted to Steemit was the posts from previous #thediarygame. So I decided to join the next round. I post this as a trial for #thediarygame.

So, I’m going to tell you today’s activities from the beginning. I had a thought to post this today. So I captured interesting things that I found today.

It was around 8am when I wake up as no special things were scheduled. Due to Covid 19 pandemic, our university is close for about 4 months up to now. As I said in my introductory post, I’m a final year Engineering undergraduate.

In the morning, I walk a round around my home garden. My garden have many flower plants as I love gardening. I captured some newly bloomed flowers and some plants. I spent few minutes treating them.

Then I watered ladies fingers plants, which my father and me transferred to the medium yesterday.
After that, I removed some weeds in the garden. I used a tool called mulluwa for that purpose. Unfortunately its tip pierced on one of my finger and started to bleed. So I stopped that there and treated the injured finger.
After sometime I swept the garden and it was a tired duty as always.

Then I went into the home and prepared a cup of tea. I had some jam that my mother made it out of ripe lovi fruits, in the refrigerator. I applied them on cream cracker biscuits and ate that while drinking tea and watching one of my favorite childhood cartoon Pancha.

I spent around one hour there and then swept the home floor. My parents and my brother went out for an alms giving and only me and my sister were at home.

Then it was lunchtime news time and I usually watch news if I’m at home. After that I read some posts on Steemit and spent few minutes.

There were few king coconuts in the home that plucked from the garden yesterday. We cut 2 of them and drank them. The king coconut is native to Sri Lanka. Normally we call it Thambili in Sinhala language. A fruit like coconut that have a sweet flavor in its water. We can eat king coconut meats too. Then I had my lunch together with my sister but I was full as I drank a whole king coconut.

After that I had a small nap while listen to the music. Then I collected some images for my next zentangle order. As I mentioned in my introductory post I draw zentangle arts in my free time, and if there is an order I’ll sell them.

Again in the evening, I went back to garden. Ohh🤭 It’s hard to take me out of the garden if I went there just for a little thing. So I spent a little time there by plucking guavas, we call them pera in Sinhala and some Ceylon olives. Again we call them veralu in Sinhala.

In the evening, I had a online meeting with my two batch mates regarding some problems in the online learning program as university is conducting lectures online. We three are department representative for our batch. So we needed to convince academic staff about those problems.

Then in the late evening, I plucked flowers to worship Lord Buddha as I’m a Buddhist.

After that I watched a reality show while having my dinner and for dessert I found something delicious. Thadaaaaa...! 😋

It is Watalappan time. A very tasty food made out of jaggery, eggs and milk together with some special ingredients. Mostly Muslim people makes this for their festivals like Ramadan.
As Sri Lanka has a mixed culture, watalappan is made in our homes too without any occasion.

This is how my day went so far. It may not be interesting that much. But this is my first try. I hope you will enjoy.

Your comments will help me to do a great job here. So I’m waiting for them.

Thank you @steemitblog and @steemcurator01 for this amazing event. 😍
