Cooking is what I love doing because I do enjoy eating whatever I cook. I am sure you also like cooking. Today, in this post, I will be showing you how to cook egusi, ogbono, and vegetable soup. Don't mind the combination of foods I used; it makes it a delicious soup.
Egusi is a very nice seed that is good for making soup. It has oil that makes it very proteins. You can prepare it using vegetable leaves like ugwu as well as meat, smoked fish, or cow skin. In today's post, I will be showing you how to prepare yours using the ingredients below.
- Egusi
- Ogbono
- Vegetable leaf
- Meat (beef)
- Fresh Pepper
- Palm oil
- Onions
- Salt (to taste)
- Maggi
In cooking, water is very important, as it is a substance that helps us keep our food clean. In this case, you have to use water, wash your meat very well, and put it inside a pot. Wash and slice your vegetable leaf and keep it aside. Also, wash and grind your pepper and onions and keep them aside.
After you have finished preparing your ingredients, your first step is to parboil your meat. In this case, wash and put your meat into your cooking pot and add salt, Maggi, sliced onion, and a little quantity of water. Place it on fire and allow it to cook for 20 minutes.
After you have cooked your meat, get a clean pot, put palm oil in it, and allow it to get hot. Before frying your egusi, put it on a plate, add a little warm water, and stir it. You can then put it into the oil pot and fry it.
Keep on stirring the egusi that is on fire for some minutes before you can turn it onto a separate plate. After doing that, put your cooked meat in, add ground pepper, onion, and crayfish, and allow it to cook well before you can put it in Ogbono.
Put in your fried egusi and allow it to cook. You can then add your slice of vegetable leaf and stir. Cover the pot and allow it to boil for 3 minutes.
