Yam and Vegetable is a sweet delicacy prepared by most Nigerians. It is a highly nutritious meal always recommended for people recuperating from sickness because of its high nutrition content. Some of its health benefits includes.
Vegetable is a high source of vitamin.
It's reduces blood sugar and helps the body in fighting infection.
It helps in maintaining a healthy skin, hair and nail.
Yam in the other hand is a high source of carbohydrate and complex sugar.
Ingredients
Yam
Red oil
Crayfish
Seasoning cubes
Onions
Fresh pepper
Vegetable
Salt
Cooking Procedures
This meal can be prepared using so many methods.
Peel, wash and cut your yam into cube shapes.
Put it in the pot and cook it until it's tender.
While the yam is cooking, wash, cut and slice your vegetables and keep it aside.
Wash and slice your onions and keep it aside.
Slice your pepper also.
When the yam is tender enough, turn off the heat and remove the water from it.
Add the sliced vegetable and onions to the pot and cook it about 5minutes for it to soften.
Add the yam, salt, pepper, onions to the pot.
Add red oil to the pot.
Use a wooden spoon to stir and mix everything together. The essence of using a wooden spoon is to ensure that the yam doesn't break while stirring.
Allow it to cook for a few minutes
