Hello everyone, good morning to you all. Hope you all had a wonderful night rest? Welcome to week #55 of our weekly cooking challenge. Today, I will be teaching you guys how to prepare porridge beans and yam.

Health benefits of beans and yam Porridge.

Beans contains high protein content which is good for growth.

It helps in repairing worn out tissues.

It is the best form of food for diabetic patients.

Beans contains fiber which helps to reduce the rate of heart disease.

It's an antioxidant.

It helps in weight loss.

Yam contains high carbohydrate content.

Yam gives energy and strength to the body.

Ingredients for Porridge beans and yam.

Beans

Red oil

Crayfish

Salt to taste.

Seasoning cubes

Procedure

Select your beans in order to remove the bad ones and stones.

Wash the beans and put it in a sieve.

Parboil it for about 10 minutes.

Wash it again and add water to it.

Cook it for some time. Add more water to the beans until it's tender.

Slice fresh pepper and onions and set them aside.

Blend your crayfish and set it aside.

Add sliced onions to beans, this helps to soften the beans faster.

Peel your yam, cut it into cubes and wash it.

Add water again to the beans.

Add yam, blended crayfish, salt seasoning cubes and fresh pepper to the beans.

Add red oil to the beans.

Stir it and allow it to cook for some time.

Do not stir often so that the food won't burn.

Stir and turn off the heat when the beans is done.

Your delicious porridge beans and yam is ready.

It's best eaten when hot.
