SEC14 WK:#5: Charity Begins at home

Greetings Everyone, This is SHOHANA From #Bangladesh

Indeed an awesome topic I've find to discuss in this blog today and it is about the very conventional quote Charity Begins at home. undoubtedly its a wise say so who can deny the wisdom of this? When we born, we are like other animals but our parents and family help us to be human.

When a family help us to be human, it train us at home. A family at home teaches us the manners that makes us different from the other animals and charity is one of all those qualities that we can learn at home at first and it makes us different from the other animals and we can practice humanity by doing charity too.

👉What is your view about charity and do you believe that it should begin at home?

Charity is a great virtue and I love those who practice it. As human being our first learning place is family and family lives at home so I think charity practice should start from home and we should be kind to our family at first and then shows our kindness to the world. Our learning and practicing platform is home so charity also should begins at home.

Kids learn from parents and grandparents and when we do practice charity we also teach our young people to do the same. Like every good practice charity should start from home and each religion appreciate charity because its a sign of kindness and as human being we should contribute to charitable activities as much we can afford.

👉What is the motivating factor for charity work and is it good to broadcast what you have done for others

If I talk about my personal motivation then it is absolutely my religion Islam that appreciate charitable activities a lot and we can earn blessing by helping others and being kind to others, what else we want to have as motivation to contribute on charity? My parents taught me to be kind and helpful to needy people and when we grown up and went to school, our teachers encourage us to take part in charitable practice and when we understand the priority of it, we just do it for our self satisfaction or for the satisfaction of our soul.

The please our Almighty Allah we also practice charity and we can start practicing it at home at first. Helping parents on their home works like serving foods, water, helping them in the garden and kitchan can be a good practice and these activities can be consider as charity because I believe every good work that we do for helping others can be consider as charity. We can help our grandparents at home as we can serve them water and foods, help them finding their stick or eye glasses and read newspaper for them etc can be a good charitable activity practice that we can begins at home.

👉When was the last time you carried out charity work to the members of your home

Well my family need financial support from me so every month I send money and doing charity this was as much I can afford. Right now I can earn and my father is disable to earn so this can be consider as charity to my home and I'm doing this for around last two years continuously. Beside this I try to help the cook who cooks food for me or us and also try to give financial help to the needy as much I can afford. Our religion appreciate charitable activities without mentioning them so I prefer or try to keep my charity secret instead showing them off in the public.

👉Your advice to others about charity

My advice to others about charity is to keep practicing doing it and never do it for publicity and attention. When we do charity with purpose then it no longer call charity so be kind to keep contributing on charitable activities. These days people believes in show off and share pictures in the social media when they donate something to the poor or needy but this look like advertisment of kindness but kindness and charity is a virtue and the purpose of it should be helping others nothing else.

Parents and grandparents of a family should practice charitable activities that their next generation learn from them and respect them more. Kids should have good motivation from the family to practice charity and we can encourage them to save money from the pocket money and give it to the poor and needy. A good practice can change the world in a positive way and it can begins at home, that's all I wanted to say!
