I am going to tell you such a story today. What you will be surprised to hear. I am going to talk about a bird that has disappeared from the world because of its belief in humans. Hope you like this post of mine.

There is a bird in history which is called the fool bird. A bird that has disappeared from the world because of trusting humans. The story is true even though it may be hard to hear. Today I am going to present that story to you.

The name of the bird was DoDo bird. The word dudo means stupid or stupid. This bird did not run away when it saw people but came to people. That's why the Portuguese named this bird the stupid or Dudo.

These Dodo birds lived on the island of Mauritius around the 16th century. This bird was big in size. This bird was up to three feet long. The weight was 10 to 20 kg.

Portuguese sailors first learned about these birds when they first arrived at the Mauritius Islands. It is known from history. There were no other animals on this island except this dodo bird. But the island had a variety of food for the animals. Such as fruits flowers and tree bark etc.

Although these birds can rise early in life, they cannot rise again due to eating a lot of food. They lose their ability to fly as their bodies become larger and heavier. And day by day these birds become lazy.

Biologists believe that this bird was similar to pigeons or doves. As there were no other birds on the island except these. So they lived safely on that island. They even nested on the ground and laid their eggs on the ground.

When people first arrived on this island. Then they did not try to escape when they saw people. Because they have never seen humans before. So they approached people without fear. Due to which people could easily catch this bird. It is known from history that this bird was not afraid of people until it became extinct. This stupid bird remained stupid till the end.

How did the dodo bird become extinct ? :There are many reasons why the dudu became extinct. Mainly after the discovery of the Mauritius Islands, the movement of sailors increased here. And as I said earlier, this bird preferred to be close to humans. So they were easily caught by the sailors. And would accept them and eat them.

As this bird was very large in size. So their eggs were very big. As a result, sailors used them as food along with eggs. Also, along with humans, other animals also came to the island. Such as dogs, cats and other animals. As a result, this bird became extinct within 75 years.

And this bird is known as a stupid bird in the pages of history because it trusts people very easily and becomes extinct. But biologists believe that laziness is also the cause of their extinction in addition to trusting humans. Although this bird has disappeared from history, the people of Mauritius island have not forgotten this bird yet. The people of the island of Mauritius have given this bird the status of national bird and are continuing research to bring this bird back.
