Mit Politik auf solchen Plattformen ist es immer so eine Sache... Ich persönlich finde es auf dem Steem genau so wichtig wie im richtigen Leben: es gilt, Meinungen und Standpunkte auszutauschen, zu besprechen und sich ggf. auch daran zu reiben. Für meine Begriffe gelingt das hier meist recht gut. Man muß sich nicht immer einig sein unter'm Strich, aber man kann sich trotzdem respektieren. Da fällt es dann auch relativ leicht, zwischendurch einzelne Monologe mit dem Grundtenor, die eigene Weltsicht wäre die einzig wahre und alles Anderslautende komme eh von Ignoranten und Idioten, gepflegt zu ignorieren. Mir jedenfalls ;-))
Insofern werde ich mir weiter erlauben, Nachrichten aus meinem Netzwerk zu verbreiten und Anstöße zu geben, selber die Augen und Ohren offen zu halten. Darum geht es mir auch heute - von einem Fernfahrer aus meiner Facebook-Filterblase wurde ich darauf aufmerksam gemacht, daß es ein neues und weitgehend unbeachtetes Problem gibt: auf den Autobahnrastplätzen sind lange Reihen von Trucks, deren Fahrer ihre Lenkzeitpausen einhalten oder im Fahrzeug die Nacht verbringen, allgegenwärtig und gewohnt. Einige von ihnen sind momentan allerdings Gestrandete. Fahrer, die europaweit und manchmal sehr lange unterwegs sind und im Auftrag von russischen und belarussischen Firmen fahren, wurden recht unvermittelt von dem Ausschluß der russischen Banken aus dem SWIFT-System getroffen. Wenn auch erst mit Verzögerung, nämlich beim notwendigen Tankstop. Die meist benutzten Tankkarten sind damit nämlich entsprechend ungültig geworden, die meisten eventuell mitgeführten Kreditkarten ebenfalls. Die letzten Anbieter reagierten gestern mit der Sperrung aller dort ausgegebenen Visa- und Masterkarten. Ich weiß nicht, ob diese Situation nicht absehbar war oder schlicht keine Rolle gespielt hat - auf jeden Fall sitzen die Betroffenen jetzt fest. Nach einigen Tagen sind die mitgeführten Vorräte aufgebraucht und die Energie für redundante Fahrzeugsysteme wie Heizung und Kommunikation ebenfalls. Mein Bekannter hat berichtet, daß den einheimischen Fahrern irgendwann die über Tage unbewegten ausländischen Lastzüge aufgefallen sind. Nachfragen ergaben dann die beschriebene Problemlage. Die Fahrer waren und sind froh über gespendete Nahrungsmittel und Getränke. Eine Aussicht auf Abhilfe gäbe es wohl nicht.
Ich bin heute vormittag auf meinem Weg zum Pferd auf den Rasthof Stolpe gefahren, einen Berlin-nahen Tank- und Rastplatz. Vor Ort fand ich sechs russische Fernfahrer, die aus genau diesem Grund seit Dienstag da festsitzen. Sie waren allerdings recht guter Dinge, da sie Übereinkommen mit dem Tankstellenbetreiber haben treffen können, der durchaus Verständnis für ihre Situation hat. Sie bekommen regelmäßig übrig gebliebenes Essen und die Möglichkeit zu duschen und es wird im Kontakt mit den Firmen an einer Zahlungslösung gearbeitet. Hier war ich einmal mehr froh über die direkte persönliche Hilfsbereitschaft und Konstruktivität. Das nährt auch meine Hoffnung, andere Betreiber reagieren ähnlich umsichtig und besonnen, wenn es zu solchen Ausfällen kommt. Trotzdem appelliere ich an die Leute, die viel unterwegs sind und ohnehin selbst auf große Rastplätze fahren: die wo auch immer gestrandeten Fahrer freuen sich, wenn Ihr ein Verpflegungspäckchen anbieten könnt. Wenn Ihr ein paar Euro übrig habt und damit am Ende des Tages zu einer warmen Nacht im geheizten Fahrerhaus beitragen könnt. Sie werden Euch nicht von sich aus ansprechen - mehrheitlich scheint ihnen ihr Herkunftsland gerade peinlich zu sein. Es sind einfache und gute Leute, die wieder einmal ausbaden müssen, was auf ganz anderen Ebenen ausgefochten wird. Laßt uns nicht auch unmenschlich werden, bloß weil es in der Welt Unmenschen gibt!

That's what I'm about today - a truck driver from my Facebook filter bubble pointed out to me that there is a new and largely unnoticed problem: on motorway rest areas, long lines of trucks whose drivers take their driving breaks or spend the night in the vehicle are ubiquitous and habitual. Some of them, however, are currently stranded. Drivers who travel all over Europe and sometimes for very long periods of time, driving on behalf of Russian and Belarusian companies, were hit quite abruptly by the exclusion of Russian banks from the SWIFT system. This morning, on my way to my horse, I drove to the Stolpe service area, a petrol station and rest area close to Berlin. I found six Russian truck drivers who had been stuck there since Tuesday for exactly this reason. They were in good spirits, however, as they had been able to reach an agreement with the petrol station operator, who was quite understanding of their situation. They regularly get leftover food and the opportunity to shower, and a payment solution is being worked out in contact with the companies. Here I was once again pleased with the direct personal helpfulness and constructiveness. This also fuels my hope that other operators will react in a similarly prudent and level-headed manner when such failures occur. Nevertheless, I appeal to the people who are on the road a lot and drive themselves to large rest areas anyway: the drivers stranded wherever will be happy if you can offer a food package. If you have a few Euros over and can contribute to a warm night in the heated cab at the end of the day. They will not approach you of their own accord - most of them seem embarrassed by their country of origin right now. They are simple and good people who once again have to pay the price for what is being fought out on a completely different level.
