Causes

Although the exact causes is not known but there are factors that may contribute to it which includes; developing digestive system, some growing hormones that may cause pains or enlarge stomach. This leads to a cry that will even confuse you as a mother, but do not be terrified try and stay calm.

Diagnosis

There is no test done to identify it. You can only know it's colic with a frequent crying with a no known cause, not as a result of hunger or overfeeding or changing of diaper. Your baby cry for a long time frequently, if you can't separate this cry, see a doctor immediately for medical advice don't take chances.

Treatment

See your doctor for treatment there are some medications that will keep your baby calm, once you see a doctor, medication will be prescribed to relief the baby.

Other management of it

Instead of leaving your baby in a crying state for so long, try and control the cry by swaddling your baby, sing for your baby, rock your baby. Most importantly, be sure your baby is not hungry, change sleeping position, change diapers, their room should be well ventilated for easy breathing. Be sure your baby is fine in all this aspect, then give the prescribed medication by the doctor, and put the baby to sleep.
