Observation of my growing VEGETABLES

At this unusual time, when a small virus seems to paralyze the whole world, I am very grateful to have my own garden. Because of the #stayathome regulations of my country I am currently working in the home office. This is work, of course, but I can manage both work and free time much better than a teacher can anyway. So I enjoy every free minute in the garden.

Already a month ago I prepared the beds and the greenhouse. Although the weather in Northern Germany is very, very good at the moment, the sun spoils us, the vegetation here is not quite ready yet. But slowly you don't need a magnifying glass anymore to see the miracle of growth initiated by a tiny seed.

There are many positive motives for growing your own fruit and vegetables. Besides the high recreational value of gardening, the most important aspect for me is that I know what I am eating: fruit and vegetables without pesticides, fruit and vegetables that are not genetically modified.

But now let's see what I cultivate and care for. I can't show you any vegetables yet, but tender vegetable plants - this should be okay for participating in a vegetable photo challenge... 😉

In The Greenhouse

I bet I can eat tiny, little CUCUMBERS before April's over.
The TOMATO plant grows and thrives.

I expect a crisp, purple EGGPLANT in August.
The sweet red PEPPERS will taste delicious.

The Outside Beds

This CHARD survived the last winter and is already enough for a small meal. Mince rolled in chard leaves and gratinated with cheese? A delicious chard spinach? Both great!

PARSLEY in front of well growing LEEK.
Tiny RADISHES... soon. I'll probably eat them in two weeks.

This is to become GARLIC. One plant cannot wait...
This inconspicuous sprout will soon become healthy, iron-rich BEETROOT.

Later On

I am looking forward to the harvest very excited but first I will enjoy the spring and summer and do a lot of gardening!
