Aberdeen (Scotland) - an industrial city that has turned into a colorful place

DSC_05.jpg

The «grey» city of Aberdeen in Scotland is not really that grey. This city is probably full of great art. When I was here in august 2018, it was a pleasant surprise to walk around and discover street art and graffiti. Back in Norway, I did do some research and found out that Aberdeen also is part of the Nuart festival which started in Stavanger. In just a few hours I came across at least 30 different pieces. One of my favourite artists is Alice Pasquini, who did two murals in Aberdeen in 2017. Her work is seen both on urban walls, galleries and museums in more than 100 cities around the world.

In the Union Terrace Garden - a park in the city center, there is graffiti from one end to the other. Many are signed by «Smokie». Have not managed to find out anything about who he or she is.

A short film put together by Chris again, enjoy! :)
