The dash,
It is the space.
The start and finish,
Of a lifelong race.
The number,
Where it all began.
Just a moment in life,
In gods own plan
The end,
As it draws near.
Your worries & concerns,
Are not what you fear
Your legacy,
Could it be true.
Life spent away,
But all on you?
Or did you give,
A helping hand.
Sow the seeds,
And grow the land
Of opportunity
For all that live
The gift of life Is what you'll give.
So stop.
As the night begins to fall
Reflect back on life
And give your all
The line.
It is your life
Your friends and family
Your future wife
The community
And those you served
Passing time
With whom deserved
The unit
How you spent your time
Is what we'll compare
As time
Is the only thing
That all people have
A unit that's truly ling
So breathe,
For one last breath
As you close your eyes
Your final rest
Because if all that's left Is this stony sign
Your whole life's work,
Is a dash-just a simple line.
